You do know it is less than 100 years since India gained its independence from the British Empire? I.e. When we actually had ownership of a country and exploited all their wealth for our own benefit. Less than 100 years since we created Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and Israel to suit our own aims and all the mayhem which ensued after that. Is it any wonder that since we royally fucked up all these places and a vast array of other places, that when it goes tits up the inhabitants see Europe and the U.K. As a good place to take shelter from starvation, drought, exploitation, war and violence. We created the problems which are bringing many of the refugees to our shores. We have a responsibility to aid them and give them shelter. You did not answer many of the questions i posed, instead you swerved around them. Is London unusual from most major world cities? I was not talking about the Vikings, or the Spanish, I was talking LONG before any of these civilisations even existed. Go to Orkney and learn about the cradle European and British civilisation 5-10 thousand years ago at the Ness of Brodgar, Skara Brae, etc. That is where British civilisations had their hub. These people came from the far south simply because that's where there were people to come from. Or before that, Neanderthals from Africa used to run the place. But you seem to have drawn an arbitrary line in the sand which suits your very narrow view of history and decided that after that no one is properly British and inferior to the arbitrary identity you have created for yourself. I said it before and will say it again, without immigration, Britain would be empty. It is an island. These trying to get in to the Uk for a safe life need our help and we as humans should recognise them as nothing less than the same as us. We are disproportionately wealthy in the UK compared to the rest of the world. And to create equilibrium and give the dirt poor wealth, we need to realise that we will have to accept small sacrifices in our standard of living for the betterment of the whole planet as we have engineered a situation where we get vast wealth in comparison to 80% of the worlds population and we get this by directly preventing them from what is rightfully theirs. Therefore for equality and equilibrium we have to make sacrifices. Or you can state you are happy for 80% of the world to live in poverty just so you can have a nice life. Feel free to make that statement. Some might suggest that is rather selfish. | |||

The stats still show most entrenched worklessness is amongst the white British population.
I hope you at least understand that some of the figures for people born abroad include white British born elsewhere and in the UK as a result of their family.
I hope you never decide you'd like to work elsewhere in the world because you might find you fall outside the 5-10% quota of foreigners for that country.
