We haven't done this for a while and one of Courtney's posts made me think about lots of the newer forum users and what they might sound like.

What do you think the poster above sounds like?

I really didn't think this through when I answered the first question!

I don't think I'm particularly posh, and certainly not plummy, but I think Nell is fairly accurate.

Cleo - well educated, with the occasional dropped h.

I wish. I'm from the East Midlands so have a bastardised and southern accent influenced accent these days. It's mid pitched and not gravelly and not camp at all. I have a horrible habit of saying 'yah' or 'yeah' instead of 'yes'.

I do have a slight Hampshire 'burr' at times, which becomes much worse when I talk to other farming types...

But I have the slight vestiges of having come from a family of Salfordians, so I'll talk of things like "chippy teas" and "barmcakes" which makes life very confusing....
