North vs South

The right place

I have to admit I'm missing the north. I have finished working there recently and have moved my profile back down south.

Although it's not a scientific study I would say that in my experience northerners are more friendly than southerners.

It's hard starting again down here.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot here!

This post should really say how wonderful your new Southern neighbors are, and how hot they seem to be, and how you can't wait to start shagging.

And I right??

Don't say that! I'm thinking on maybe heading south next year! If I have the courage that is, but then Abz is not the friendliest to new comers either and after over 20 years I still don't fit in lol

My experience too and I have lived in the North, South East, East Anglia and now the Midlands.

I am impressed with the Midlands, people are nice & friendly and it's just over an hour on the train to London

I can see how that might have been the smart thing to say!

Let's just say it's a chance for all the sexy, friendly southern women to make themselves known.

Friendliness is not that same in all areas of the North. The bit I'm from is very reserved, occasionally bordering on hostile.

Brighton - even Hove!

There are more adult clubs up North, saying that, almost everywhere is.

Everywhere is what you make it!

Londoners are a special breed though I do admit, I remember when I first moved this way I used to smile and say hello to people as I passed them in the street and they seemed to think I was some sort of psycho! Whereas where I come from you're a strange 'un if you DON'T say hello or acknowledge to people as you pass you!

But get to know them and they're great people!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

London can be friendly. I have chats with strangers in queues, smiles and winks at the strange things that happen.

It is a rush and there are just millions more people here. If you stopped and smiled and chatted with everyone you'd never get to work.

I think Fab is harder in London for a couple of reasons:

1. As well as the messages from Londoners you get messages from everyone visiting London on business or holiday;

2. Travel from North London to South London (East/West etc.) take longer than much shorter distances outside of London. Factoring that into whether to meet cuts down your options further.

I inadvertently spent over an hour sat at Preston station when I was on the sleeper train last week. Not one Northerner came along to be friendly to me.

One of my friends from oop North told me that when she was a teenager the phrase "getting off at Preston" was an euphemism for not having full sex. That was "going to Blackpool".

I don't think Northerners are in your face, we kind of just try and take the piss out of everything, dry, self deprecating humour. Or maybe not, depending on who you've chatted to!

If someone was from somewhere like Camden, would it be better to take a train to the midlands or further north, compared to going to south London? A version of sex tourism. Quicker, cheaper than a cab and less hassle?

I do meet people beyond London when it's quicker and easier than trying to get across London.

I'm not sure.

People generally think from my accent that I'm a lot posher than I am but I'm not too difficult to expose as pond scum.

All I know is that when I hear my voice I think I sound quite nasally.
