been asked to get 2 of these for a present for a family member and their partner. Used google and there is such a choice of websites.

need to make sure the one I choose will not be a scam, so, any advice or recommendations would be most helpful.

thanks in advance

"I got mine from a site called Viator "

Viator is a great site for that sort of thing and excursions etc when overseas, and they are used as an engine by Travel companies too!

I didn't think they were worth it.

It very much depends on how long you're going but it's utterly impossible to make it worth it. You can't get from one to the next in time to enjoy the benefit of it. I would be tempted to get them dollars instead if it's a gift.

I know that's not what you asked and I'll look through my emails and find where I got them from (it was the bus shop in Times Square) for you but I wouldn't do it again. I don't think you benefit from the saving.

If you google 'newyorkpass' there's a website that gives you all the relevant info on how to book.

i went for a week the last time i went and did the lot. Saved a fortune on buying individual tickets.

that said 2/3 days isn't long enough to do it all.

So if you are only doing a couple of things, individual tickets may be cheaper

don't forget as well, transfers to & from the airport can be pricey so make sure your friends have factored that in too

You can buy a Citipass from any of the participating venues, such as the Empire State building or the Rock. Easier than booking online imo.

Citypass dot com is the official site. You can usually get them through groupon too.

I didn't use one and still enjoyed my time there.

Yeah I went for a fortnight but the pass was the three day one. I think maybe the one for the whole week is better but trying to cram all that stuff into three days was exhausting!

Also the bus from the airport (Newark) was super duper value for money.

I wouldn't buy the passes online either, it is so easy to get them whilst in New York . I would just give the dollars.
