You lend out something - anything and it comes back in a crap state!
I lent out a giant off road bike to someone and now I can't enjoy a good Sunday ride because there's things wrong with it (and I was told it was servived) .... Bang goes my Sunday ride!

I do hate it, and personally think that my loaning out of books, which never come back is trivial compared to your bike. However, I loaned a friend a thousand pounds over a year ago and I can't see it ever returning... Friendship remains and it is never mentioned.... |

I lent a bass guitar to someone about 8 years ago and it still hasn't come back to me, in any kind of state ... and the person I lent it to has vanished too
I remember in the days of vinyl when you'd lend out records and they never ever seemed to come back without a scratch on them! |

That's incredibly bad form though isn't it? I'd never dream of doing that, it's so unfair! |

Bass guitar, that is completely awful. You must have loved it, just hope, with all sympathy, it wasn't a really expensive one! |

It was to a friend's ex-boyfriend. She still has contact 'cos of their kids, but every time she mentions it on my behalf he's like "oh yeah, I really must ..." and then 'forgets' again.
Having to rely on a friend to chase something is kinda shit ... and in all honesty I think he's lost it and trying to avoid buying a replacement |

I was annoyed enough when I let a friend borrow a pair of jeans and they came back with chocolate stains and crumbs and penguin wrappers in the pockets.
I pulled her up on it and apparently she let one of HER friends borrow them as well and it was this "friend" who left them in that state.
And yet SHE still handed them back to ME like that.
She then asked to borrow some of my corsets... - I said no.

"Depends what is wrong with it, sometimes it is an easy fix.
You are right now though things should come back in the same state you lent them out in."
Exactly. If you ask to borrow something you could at least have some respect for that person's property. |

I only lend to people I trust, and it all depends what it is. About half my guitars, the one's I gig/record with, never get lent out.
If anything ever comes back in a worse state than it went out in, then I will never lend that person anything again - ever. |

My sister used to "borrow" my clothes, from my wardrobe, without permission.... Then wear them, and put them back, without washing them first...
Still irks me today, and it was 30+ years ago |

I lend my wife out regularly, and she always comes back in a right state.
Sore
Desheveled hair
Missing underwear
Covered in man milk
Hope she goes again soon |
