When I was younger, I remember my Dad waking my for our overnight drive to the Mountains. Now when I drive at night through the Peaks or Countryside,I always remember my Dad and our trips, it feels me with warmth and makes me feel happy at the memories. I love night drives in the middle of nowhere.

Does the darkness of night hold any special significance for you?

Perhaps you are normal, it could be me. I know people who are afraid of the dark, it's a phobia like any other. You can buy a luminous vampire for your room, that might help.

I love the dark, it's magical. I used to live in a tiny little Dale with no light polution and the skies were breath-taking on a clear night. On a cloudy night you couldn't see your own hand in front of your face and your other senses became very acute. I miss it quite a bit.

Yeah always have been. I can't think of any reason why. Shared a room with my sister and we would argue every night because I wanted the nightlight left on and she didn't

I just enjoy the darker nights and I prefer meets at night when it's dark, it doesn't have the same effect when it's light or day time.

That's amazing, I love the Mountains in the Dark, when you can't see them, but you know they are there looming over you, Owls hooting, Foxes alarm calls, I want to go to the Peaks now.

I love being out in the moonlight.

To be out under b the stats had always had a magical effect on me.

From a very young age I'd gaze in wonder

Even following through to taking a masters degree in astrophysics.

I very nearly became a professional astronomer

Reminds me of scout camps playing games in dark woods, or night hikes reading maps by torchlight and walking across moonlit fields. I love a moonlit night when there is a total abscence of man made light

I used to have a torch and a movie viewer, so I would watch cartoons under the covers, always loved the dark. Bet your sister took the micky out of you.

I can't abide light pollution - there's no need for it. I love the kind of darkness when you can't tell if your eyes are open or shut.

Back where I belong

No scares me , remember once during a power cut sitting terrified in the corner until the lights came on again - couldn't even go to the kitchen to get a torch.

Living up in the Canadian rockies for a time ... you can never appreciate the Milky Way unless you're in the middle of nowhere, and you can see how it got its name

That and the Aurora on an almost nightly basis

There's also something quite mystical about lying on a beach with a half d*unken bottle of wine/cider between you, staring at the stars and waking up in the morning thinking "How romantic was that"

or "Who the fuck was that"

southend

When I was younger, my sister and I used to stay overnight at my Grandparents a lot, due to my parents working shifts.

My Nana used to send us both to bed at the same time, but tell me to stay awake secretly. She would then come and get me when my sister was asleep and I'd stay up late watching movies.
