Pulled my calf muscle. Can't put my foot flat on the floor so hobbling like an old lady. Gotta go to work in an hour, taken some ibuprofen.. Is deep heat good for this kinda thing??

It may help but ideally I'd recommend using an ice pack and elevation to reduce swelling initially and then use Deep Heat later to help loosen the muscle.

I'd also consider a day or two off work if it's a job where you're on your feet all day and you could be in breach of their H&S policy.

sure it's calf and not achilles? Ibuprofen is good ice may be better

Once today is over im off till tues and they are already short so I'll just crack on. Will get an ice pack on it as soon as I get home x

Swap ice and heat if you can

Icing will reduce any swelling and potential bruising, but follow with heat to loosen the muscle.

Compression too... get a tubigrip on it if you can, or long socks.

The ibuprofen is probably best right now.

Try some tiger balm too, much nicer than deep heat

yes it's lower but it stops you straightening ankle to I've had probs with my Achilles xx

Ice for three days, then it doesn't really matter. If you have to go to work I would bandage it to minimise movement. Heal it carefully, get physio - I pulled a calf skiing and I keep re doing it because it healed shortened.

Or as an emergency measure, if you cant put your foot flat...wedge shoes?

the other alternative of course is me massaging it for approximately an hour ,this works wonders
