The greenies would love the teleporter, imagine the reduction in greenhouse emissions. If I invented it I'd make it run on coal and polar bears just to piss them off!...  |

On the geek side of this star trek has predicted so many inventions, mobile phones, tablets, flat screen TVs, Google glasses... It's interesting to see what comes up next.
Its not so much an invention but a social convention in star trek where they have done away with money. Its that that was meant to fuel the push for the stars where everyone works for the betterment of mankind |

Actually some of the clothing could be fun... next time you walk down the street imagine everyone in the Lycra uniforms, and of course pity those in the red shirts that are standing with a group of other colours, they aint gona make it back...  |

Never happened or likely to happen in reality.

Well....
Teleportation of a single particle has actually been done. The one thing that restricts it from happening is storage. The amount of information stored in your little finger would take up more data storage devices than we currently have on earth. Not to mention the staggering amount of power it would consume. So I'm fairly certain you would indeed upset the greenies. |
