Now that England are out of the world cup it is a great chance for Ireland,Scotland,or Wales to equal Engands Feat of winning the World Championship away from home!,although the furthest that they will have to travel away from home is probably 200 miles can they equal Englands Feat do you think?,or is it a Bridge to Far?. |

they usually start a bit slow and get better, i think they have the best chance mainly because Wales have had so many injuries.. |

Not my first sport so I've only caught a few games. Only England game I watched was against Australia. Woeful! Just hoping for upsets for the rest of the tournament so will be supporting the underdogs and minnows who have managed to get out of their groups. ![](/icons/s/razz.gif) |

"Why are Ireland included as a home nation? Sorry if it's a daft question lol x
fair point..
northern hemisphere then without entertaining the French or Italians..
"
I have heard people saying that on sky sports news etc just wondered.
Another thing, obviously England got knocked out and that's not ideal in a home World Cup.
But is it really a massive shock that England could lose to Wales and Australia?
Not sure I get the huge shock factor that this was possible? X

Sounds even worse!
Bring on the dancing girls! Fine wine and foie gras! Sparking conversations on the Ischian riviera.

My allegiance will now be split between the Irish as I love watching them play (no blood ties to any other home nation) and new Zealand because they're awesome!
I'm sure I'm contravening international law by doing this but I'll be buggered if I'm going to sit out the remainder of the event |

tend to agree, either game could have gone the other way..
no big shock to me that we lost, some issue's with the decisions and selections etc but thats the call on the day.. |

None of them.As they all find it absolutely hilarious when we fall on our arses. It's amazing how the English cheer on our noisy neighbours and yet they cheer on every country we come up against!! |

Don't know if that's strictly true, when Scotland played Japan there was an interesting amount of Japan fans with English accents interviewed outside the ground lol. |

"Ireland are included as home nation because Northern Ireland didn't seperate when Eire was granted independance so there is only one team from North and South."
Northern Ireland unfortunately is subject to British rule and is therefore technically part of the United Kingdom and as the Ireland team are made up of players from both the north and southern Ireland (the 4 proud provinces) are eligible to be part of the so called "home nations" |
