Contraceptive Implant...........

I have the docs tomorrow, so no jumping on the band wagon about getting proper medical advise etc

But I am on my third one so my body is used to it, and I am one of the lucky ones that has not had a period for years, however, last week I had the most horrendous phantom period pains that lasted about 4 days where as I even had to sit with a hot water bottle at my desk at work during the day.

Now I have never suffered from period pain in all my life whether I was on the pill, off the pill, in fact I never knew when my period was due, due to having no symptoms., could have been anywhere between day 21 and day 28.....

Now I have just noticed I had a bit of a period during the night but now I am thinking really? After 4/5 days of pain and now there is something showing for it? Has anyone had this themselves? And yes I am currently being monitored after having a few abnormal smears over the years and I am not a scaremonger or the type to always think the worse but has anyone had this? Could it be a sign of early menopause? Even though family history doesn’t show this until early 50’s.

I wasn’t going to see the doc but the nurse convinced me to during to my recent smear test taken on Friday – Just feel a bit of a flake/fake walking in saying ‘I have been having phantom period pains’

Any contributions greatly received x

I had terrible PMS about 18 months in to my implant. Cramps, mood swings and intermittent bleeding. Had to have it removed as I was intolerable (plus I bled for close to 4 months non stop).

Strangely, it was perfect up for me until that point. Now I'm back on the mini pill.

Also my doctor prescribed mefenamic acid to treat the cramps. They work miracles.

"Is your implant coming towards its end? I didnt have any problems with it myself to be fair loved having no periods.

One thing i have found though is as i get older my periods are a lot more painful than they used to be.

Good luck op im taking a permanet route to contrception now, i only wish it stopped periods..."

sounds to me like your body needs a break...suppressing natural cycles if you body has the organs doesnt help it go through natural changes by itself..if thats what its doing..sets up conflict inside, with one thing trying to happen and the other trying to stop it..

ive never been able to have the progesterone related contraception..

im daughter on her third jab, developed kidney dysfunction and although they wont link it i know its the cause, shes letting that come out of her body now..the cramps surrounding her kidneys have almost disappeared..

i truly hope you find the answer OP and that its not serious or long lasting xx

Sounds exactly like what my mum said! And she has never taken any contraception so you might be right with this one! x
