I have just heard that one of the characters of the music world Don Van Vliet AKA Captain Beefheart has died from M.S. aged 69.
His music was anything but mainstream, and so appealed to my own bizzare taste in music, but his critically acclaimed album "Troutmask Replica" (a personal favourite of Simpsons creator Matt Groenig) has so far been even too outlandish for me in its entirety.
In homage to him though, I will play the cd again this afternoon while I write my Christmas cards.  |
