Hi all I know a few of you people on here train at the gym.

What you do at the gym.

How long you train for.

How long you been training.

What your goal is.

All depends on what you want to achieve as your final goal to how you train.

I do bodybuilding as hobby and I been training for 15 years straight and my goal is to add muscle mass. I weigh 180lbs now and want to be in triple figures to 200lbs, training is tho just 20% and nutrition is 80%, dedication and diet gives results.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Metafit, body weight circuits, the odd weight training session, cross trainer, and a bit of pilates. 30 minute sessions three or four times a week. I do it to keep myself fit and healthy.

Flagrante

To keep in reasonable shape I only have to do around three hours a week but I'm not looking for a gym fit body....as Shag says, it's 80% nutrition so I up my protein to carb balance.

Cannock

Circuit training for 1 hour every Monday night. Then I try to do at least half an hour of weight training every day at home (got weights set up in the garage). I go for an hours run or an hour mountain bike ride over cannock chase whenever I feel like it.

Waste of money.

I don't need to leave my house to keep fit, although my job does that for me for the best part.

I'm lucky though I suppose as I've been the same size and weight since I was 18.

loll and yes. I train 4 times a week and a 2hr session including cardio in them and its a normal body split for the days, like chest and biceps, train for volume and heavy weights with a moderate rep range 7 to 10, sometimes go for 1 rep to test out your strength, my one rep max for bench pressing is 135kg, personal best.

It does make me laugh when people comment on posts like this when they look like they only see the gym when they drive past (there are a couple of exceptions of course)

Bodmin

I go to the gym to help myself stay fit. I'm a little out of shape at the moment because I broke my foot so was less active . I'm getting back to my perfect shape though ( I need to as I'm making a film next year ).

I initially joined the gym to help with a niggling knee injury from my Fire Service days ( went through a burning floor )

I use a cross trainer ( elliptical trainer ), Arc trainer and I also use the multi gym thing as I can't use free weights as, with the painkillers I have for my foot, I tend to drop things. I also love the leg extensions bench and sit up bench!

That's good work there and a good lift with the bench press, always go to failure as well and focus on the negative, with negative I mean like with the bicep curls as your arm contract at the top make sure you take it down very slowly to feel the burn.

Yeah I had a routine I would start on the bench press do 3 sets starting light ending with my max weight then I'd just bench the bar till I couldn't push anymore I always train till failure you know yourself if your really working yourself your struggle and by fucked within a hour

Good for you. I also have good genes, but my manifest themselves in looking young for my age. Some of us don't have the luxury of eating junk food and staying thin (although BMI has no bearing on fitness whatsoever), and some of us actually enjoy the endorphin high we get after a good session.

If going to the gym makes me more confident when naked in front of guys, then guess what I'm going to do.

You tried their total protein blend? Any decent flavours I used to have the unflavoured which was grim an currently just using the bog standard whey, I prefer ed the total as it helped keep me fuller

I can't stand going to the gym, I prefer to get out on the bike and find some decent hills to hit.

If I need something else I join a karate club for a bit, bonus side is you learn a bit of self defence.
