"No depends which toe , you could strap them together. Lots of rest and keep elevated to stop swelling"
It's the second toe so doesn't impede walking too much. I did it jumping off the kids bunk bed, what a tit |

No need to be sorry! If it had happened to someone else I would be gleefully mocking them right now, then I'd fetch them a bag of peas. |

If it's a proper break (as in bone is cracked open) a&e now as leaving it untreated can cause serious complications. Such as clots etc
Of its pro |

My son badly fractured his big toe recently. They strapped it to the next toe, we had to leave it like that for a week. Had to keep it elevated and avoid tight fitting shoes as much as possible.
Best get it checked |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
I did my fourth toe a couple of years back. It was obviously broken from the radiating bruises the following morning.
Went to a+e, where triage agreed and said there was not to be done.
At all.
Now, admittedly a second toe might be different, but I think strapping it to the third toe should do the trick, unless it's all off at an unpleasant angle.... |

I phoned the nhs helpline and they said only to get it looked at if the pain and bruising worsens. The swelling has subsided and it's straight, but it is a bit black though. |

I've broken a few over the years (mainly nightclub related injuries) and there was never really anything they could do. Ice if there's swelling, painkillers and rest up I reckon. |

Don't put anything frozen, ice or bags of peas directly on the skin.
Put a towel over the injury and the ice on the towel.
You might be adding frostbite to the list of injuries..... |

I might have broke my thumb a few months ago, but never went to get it checked out- bit of a mistake as its only just beginning to return to normal movement , but I've got very reduced grip with that hand.
If you're still worried in a couple of days, i would suggest getting it looked at just to make sure it's set correctly and to get it strapped up and protected while it heals.....I feel your pain, quite literally |
