Jeeze Granny... it certainly wouldn't be a Honda Jizz... my parents have one and it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding.

Probably go with an Astra cause a Ford Ka is a bit like a roller skate.

I would go for the Astra every time. Solid, affordable, reliable, and not too expensive.

I looked at a jazz & ended up with a Citroen C3 - I love it!!

It'd be a bit like me arriving at work on a Barbie trike.

What about a Polo? I'm a VW fan though. I've had two Golfs and they've been brilliant cars. I like a big engine though.

I had one before as a lease car (in an emergency after my punto died). It was cheaper & has a fantastic panoramic roof. It was an ex-mobility car, well looked after & less than 5k on clock. It's now 5 yrs old & not done 13k yet. I would love another punto though - I've had 3 so far

Don't know any of them. My daughters all drive Suzuki Swifts which are small cars. They do a lot of motorway driving as well as around London and swear by them.

Are you looking for a lease or to buy?

There have been some good deals on certain models of lease cars recently.

If you ask enough people everyone will have had good and bad experiences with every model and make of car. To some extent you have to go with your preference unless there is an amazing deal elsewhere that may justify a shift from your preference.

Great funny responses by the way.

Haha

I made a very good post above that was car related and then rebelled with my own witty comment ... Plus it was car related.

Did you want a lease or to buy as I can mention a few lease deals that may be of interest if you'd like.

I liked D.G's idea of hiring for a while..... but leasing is an option i'd not considered.

If it costs more than buying tho ... im not sure i'll like the idea.

I've never leased before myself but considering it. If you are less concerned about a particular model or make you can get good deals as lease companies may have excess stock to get rid of.

An example is a C4 (Which I think looks ugly - but apparently a good car) can be had on a 12 month deal with 10k miles for just under 1900 for the whole year. You have to get your own insurance and maybe one service but that seems a good deal for a new medium car for a year. It wouldn't compare like for like if you were looking at buying a 3/4 year old car potentially as it may not depreciate that much in a year (model dependent) but compared to a new one this would definitely make more sense.

No problem.

I've been looking on forums at deals for awhile so know of a few but not sure if I'm allowed to post on here. Message me and I can send you some other examples if you'd like.

Good luck with your search.

Out of the three go for the astra

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Of those, I'd hold my nose and buy the Astra. Jazz might be more reliable, but mings just too mercilessly.

Astra will be cheap to get parts for, probably easiest to service.

Also factor in a balaclava though - you wouldn't want to be seen in any of them!

Go for the Jazz

The 1.4, while not anything remotely fast will still outpace both the Astra and the KA. Even the 1.6 Astra will be outperformed by the Jazz.....just.

Just don't expect any torque with any of these cars the Jazz is around 94ft/lb and the KA even lower.

I've had an Astra as a courtesy car and they are stupidly over priced. It was the 1.6 SRi and I hated it.

The ford KA is the cheapest of the three but they just have the reputation of being rot boxes.

My opinion is out of the three go for the Jazz. It's a few thousand cheaper than an Astra and will have the Honda reliability.

I recently swapped my 500 for a Suzuki Swift and I love it. It's nippy economical and great to drive. The 500 was slow, noisey and unreliable. Looked good though

What is the criteria for a new car?

3, 5 door?

Engine size?

Petrol, diesel?

Manual, Auto?

Depreciation value?

??????

I have a Focus ST because its a hatchback ( climbing gear, fishing gear, fighting gear) looks good and goes like stink. But I think my son wants it and I could get a 350z cheap and a van. Not sure? Got 3 motorbikes so I need to sell two.
