I would love a few hours with dan carter, wonder if he's got a big willy?
Straight after he's finished playing strip him off lick his arse crack which would be lovely and sweaty, carefully lift up his willy and balls and lick all the creases in his groin, then chuck him in the bath and wash him! |

You'd be the best thing to happen to him from now.Sadly for such a great player his career is only going one way(and not just on tonights game,he's been shit for ages now)

No fan of Barritt, but would be even more worried if it was Burgess marking Giteau. Burgess effective with runners coming down his channel, but struggles defending space. |

Those are brave words, I admire your optimism.
We've always fared well against the Aussies in the world cup since 91 we've always put them out and it is at HQ. We've a better chance against them than the welsh do but I'm behind my sofa again tonight. |

Probably because he's put £100 on Australia winning so taking England out would increase the chances of them winning. |

well it is poite refereeing tonight... so the scrum and the breakdown is where he is fussy .... he will ping a lot if the ball isn't coming back straight away quickly
I fear for joe marler tonight as i said earlier... he doesn't scrumage straight and i can see him being pinged a lot tonight....
what do i think of carter... as good as he can be... I don't think he is past it as such.. i just think he is completely "underdone" thru lack of high class competition....
the new zealanders pulled a lot of the big boys out of super rugby ... so all thohey have really had in the last year is the autumn tour and the championship...
he needs to find his sharpness fast... as you could see a johny sexton ripping him a new one... |

see this is where i may have gone... youngs at 9, ford at 10, farrell at 12, joseph at 13.... the one thing farrell can do is defend...and you are not going to have a big thumper down the 10/12 channel... plus farrell can make stuff for himself.. and gives you kicking options at 9/10 and 12 so the aussies couldn't target anyone... |

i think the phrase you are looking for is "squeeky-bum-time"....
if england win tonight... they will qualify, they will get a 5 pointer against uruguay (which is why the bonus points against fiji and wales were so important)
and then it will come down to next weekend and wales vs australia... |

was declared fit and is playing tonight.... plus you won't need him against uruguay.... so as long as he can do 60 minutes tonight, he has 2 weeks to get ready for the quarter final (if that game were against scotland... i could see him sit that one out as well... 3 weeks for the semi) |

Well that's a relief, that gives me a little hope, we need that kind of creativity in the midfield |

Sorry, but have to disagree again. Farrell is excellent at defending against runners coming through the narrow channels, but anything wider and he is seriously compromised by pace..ie Scott Williams burnt him in the Welsh game..and just watch him cover back from a wider position for the Welsh try..like he was running in treacle! |

but i think the likes of scott williams (and jonathan davies) are made better at 13 because jamie roberts plays 12... and you have to look out for him because he is a big thumper... so it leaves space out there for the 13 to exploit
why "Dr bob" and "GOD" were so good playing together for the lions... they were so good in there own rights then it left space for the other
I think the big problem i have with barritt is that he is a defensive 12... which is fine for the likes of a roberts or a basteraud.... but in this game, i think you would need the creativity of a farrell and you could play ford (who to be honest didn't do a whole lot wrong to be dropped in the first place)... so you could almost have a double pivot for play making...
there we go... in depth rugby talk on a swinging site.... |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
Fair point re Roberts, but both Williams and Davies are direct strong runners neither have the pace or elusiveness of, say Joseph.
Totally agree re Ford, but Farrell in reality offers little threat in attack as his stats show..twice trundled into contact against Wales and once was turned over...his distribution is adequate, but at this level it's just not sharp enough...ie massive backlift for cut out passes..can't operate on the gainline to put runners through holes.
Magnificent off the kicking tee though, |

Separate the nation from the team. I do support the Ireland rugby team.
I do detest the Ireland government
I consider Irish people on their merits. Some are nice, some are not; like any nationality.
At no stage did the person express a feeling against the English nation. Indeed he said sorry for wanting England out of the RWC.
I want the All Blacks out but I have no feelings about New Zealand! |

Don't despair. I have a plan. Us Welsh ladies can fuck the arses off the Aussies pre game and wear them out.
On a serious note though, they are awesome. Whoever deserves to win will win.

Didn't like the English fans leaving the stadium with 6 minutes left of play, mean, show respect for your players and support them no matter what. Never seen welsh fans walking out and we've lost loads of games. |

People will slam Stuart Lancaster. I thought he has done a reasonable job with a good but not brilliant group. I just don't ever understand, with the potential pool of players, how England doesn't dominate world rugby |

Minor disappointment. Turn over TV, carry on as if nothing has happened.
Very minor on the Richter scale of sporting disappointment to be honest, obviously I want England to do well at any sport whenever they play so of course I wanted them to win, but this is not even the most disappointing sporting result of the day for me let alone the year
I think as a nation most people are already over it (other than the real hard core rugby supporters) whereas if this was a football World Cup (where we are equally as shit) then the majority of the nation would still be numb well into the next day.
I do wonder if the press will give the team the same sort of abuse that the football team get whenever they go out of a tournament though.
Somehow I expect the papers tomorrow will be nowhere near as scathing ... |

"Reckon we can beat Australia next week?"
It will be a tough game granted but yea we have a chance at beating them if we bring our A game. We do have quite a few key players injured but if last weeks never say die attitude prevails then why not. It won't be easy if we do though. In my opinion.
