Just booked a long weekend in Amsterdam during Halloween, it will be my first time going so does anyone have any tips on places to go etc.?
I've heard they are doing the worlds first blood rave (like that scene from Blade) whilst i am there but using animals blood... think ill give that a miss  |

Nice, I wish I was going.
Use it to your advantage.
The girls are amazing.
Bulldog cafe is ace.
Hash museum is interesting.
Clubs are wicked and you can get your substances tested.
If you want dull and boring i hear the tulips and van gogh paintings are "nice"
Take plenty of girly money.
Itll be the best 70 euros you'll spend.

Top tip.
Waterstones do a travel guide c/w pullout map and compass (you'll get lost alot)
Orientation is difficult sometimes.
You will be constantly hassled to buy illegal drugs on the canal bridges.
Don't get shitty with them. Just say no and keep walking.

Great information thanks!
Ive heard alot about intimidating guys trying to make you buy drugs but ill just politley tell them im not interested!
Ill have to invest in the map!
Been told the erotic meseum is fun but ive not heard of the hash one? Where about is it?

Ok thats canal sud.
Basically once you come out the station, dam square is straight ahead about 600 yards, turn left at the marina and you’ll enter the RLD where most of the coffee shops and girls are. There's 2 main canals, North and south that run parallel.
Hash museum is at the other end of sud (south canal) away from the station

They're usually hanging around in groups in the red light, anyone trying to sell you drugs on the street is just trying to start a conversation so they can rob you. JUST SAY NO!

There's a map in every train / bus stop, I'll recommend using them, as pulling out a map makes you look like a tourist. They are also signs all over the place pointing the direction to Central Station, Dam, Leidseplein etc., they're at first floor height, so you impress people by giving directions if they don't know about them.
The hookers with red AND blue lights in the window have penises. |

The pullout map in the "cities of the world" guides are discreet. Just avoid using it outside if you're worried about looking like a tourist. Although i expect your accent might give that away.
