Does anyone every have trouble when scanning their new passport at the airport
I had an embarrassing moment recently where no one would help me and left me there to fathom out why nothing was happening when I was stood there like a lemon holding my passport down for scanning......there must be an easier way surely
Or is it just me that's doing something wrong |

Sorry to hear that, I've had no problems in the 4 or 5 times I used the chipped passport gates but you're right there does appear to be a lack of resources supervising them in case of issues / problems. For me they've been a great innovation and saved a lot of queueing at passport control |

I've only used mine at an automated gate a couple o times, but it's always worked, although I've needed to wiggle the passport a little to get it "noticed".
I've never seen staff refuse to help though . Mostly it's been like the self-serve at the supermarket - if two people need help, one has to wait. |

Everytime I've been away I steer clear of them as there always a large queue and people struggling.Just go to the guys who sit behind thier glass box N flash them |
