just a comment from another user in another thread got the old hamster wheel in my head spinning....
"Ha ha. This is not match.com. It is a swinging/dogging/fuckiing site is it"
okay... so it isn't a dating site! but for me there is a big difference between what in essence is a "swinging site" and basically a "sex/fucking site".....
is this just me then? am i just splitting hairs so to speak...

i think this site is what ever you make it and for some folk, it has turned into match.com!
how a meet is progressed on here is between those involved and as long as it consensual i don't think anyone has a right to apply the right or wrong label |

I do not see the site as you had 'quoted' to you!
I see it as an oppertunity of getting to know new people, hopefully meeting people I like and most importantly I enjoy the social side as well, though not saying there are actually socials held up here...can live in hope though, but definately none of the above!!  |

ive been on here 18 months fab has made me laugh its made me cry ,ive met some great people in person and on line ,...Its helped me out on days when i didnt just want my own company, so i never feel alone ,there are some fabulous characters on this site and some complete W**kers but above all FaB is FAB cos its FAB ...  |

I see it also as a sex site but with benefits. Forums are great for meeting people and making friends but also I find a lot of useful information on them and I love other people's _iewpoints and experiences. I wouldnt like this site as much without the forums |

Agreed - I hardly ever use the chat room but it would be a huge loss if the forums weren't available.
I just wish they were a bit more user-friendly, like the vBulletin-based forums you get on other sites (not just swinging sites... on all forum sites). |

I think we have to be real here, the overall majority of people on here ere probably motivated to join by sex or the enhancement of their sex life in some way, to many the friendships are the bonus. That balance may change for some after being on the site a while.

Its a contact site for people who are looking for sexual encounters to me. Some singles, some couples. I know a few people who have got together for more and that is good for them. Others just like to play the field. I don't see any reason to narrow what it can be used for though so if you want more than occasional fun from it then go for it. |

For me it is about helping to find people that enable me to do the things I want to do. I sort their fantasys and them mine..
I dont really do the social other than the forums, although I do have a few friends, but rarely socialise with meets. Bit of banter yes, but no friendly stuff really..
For me it is a way to meet for sex primarily...
If I wanted friendships in particular I have other places for that, but I do have a few that I talk to quite a bit via messages.

I didn't join this site to forge friendships but to get to meet lots of sexy men that play dirty!!
As these have not been one-off meets friendships have undoubtedly developed, something I didn't expect if truth be told.
I've had, and continue to have laughs with different people: people I wouldn't necessarily play with, but real characters who I wouldn't mind sharing a pint of Peroni or two with.
Sadly, I think I spend far too much time here, and it is manily because of the forums...long may they continue. Even the nutjobs are entertaining!!! |

We see it as a NSA sex site as that is what we are looking for. We are not looking for friends to socialise with outside of playing, to chat to on the phone outside of playing etc.
I know I know, we will be told off as swinging isn't supposed to be like that, but we make our own rules to suit us.
I do like the chat and forums to nose at but that has nothing to do with the whole NSA sex we are looking for.

Your so right I also spend too much time on here, having a smartphone means that the forums are usually on in the background even when I'm not using the phone, it's becoming a habit. I do laugh at something in the forums most days. Very entertaining. |

The reasons I came to this site and the reasons I stay are very different so I have 2 _iews!
I came here as a married man attempting to get extra-curricular sex that was it! Nothing more. But I soon realised when it came to the crunch and given the opportunity I wasn't cut out for infidelity, for one thing I don't want to hurt anyone and the second I simply don't have the cognitive capacity to cope with the life of an adultery LOL.
The reasons I stay are I enjoy the banter on the forum, I've made some great friends and so it was either be a 'non-meeting freak' or leave the site for good.

I'm not sure it is percieved that much differently outside the site. There will always be a degree of intolerance and moralist out there, but I think most people expect these sites to be basically what they are. |
