Appreciate I`m probably setting myself up for a huge fall here! Just had a quick peruse of the forums and 90% of it is utter shite - obviously written by people with not a lot else to do in life. Are the forums the reason Fab has gone downhill from a MEETING perspective i.e. they have attracted the type that only seem to have a life via the internet? Controversial maybe and I understand there are lonely people etc. etc. BUT this is supposed to be a swinging site not a site for inane comment where the same subjects are discussed time and time again? I shall not be replying - just thought I`d pose a genuine question.  |

I wouldn't say 90% of what I post is utter shite....probably 25% of it maybe but then again I never make threads just post in them. |

I don't get it, why start a discuaaion/debate but then run out and not participate? Seems more like another rant because the reality isn't living up to their expectations of how it "should" be!

Some forum threads do appear time and time again. It would be silly to say that a topic can only be discussed once.
If you see a subject that's been chatted and posted about and discussed to death, then don't post. It will make your fab experience more enjoyable.
Actually, for your consideration, do a forum search for "Brightonsteves cock" - that subject has NOT been discussed before. |

I would say my life on here has actually improved by using the forums. I have met via the forums, made friends via the forums, gone to parties and events I never would have heard of if it wasn't for the forums.
I don't care about the political posts, the 'why does no-one want to meet me?' posts, or even the 'kiss, fuck, avoid' posts. I use the forums as a feature to augment my Fabswingers experience. Its working for me!  |

it works - it's just that it now takes about 10 times more effort than it did, say, 2 years ago - something's happened to lessen its effectiveness. We have had a break from the site - and returned - just trying to explore why it has become so polluted with timewasters - which it has (and many genuine people we have met have commented the same) |

It goes through phases and yes it can seem repetitive if you've been here awhile,mainly due to new members joining and exploring the joys.
I guess you get out what you put in and they do need creativity to keep them interesting. |

No. The forums are not the reason Fab has gone downhill from a MEETING perspective.
Fab hasn't gone downhill.
And most of the forumites will probably agree that being active on them actually improves their chances of meeting.
I have no trouble getting meets, just trouble finding the time.
And I have a very busy life outside of the internet, I use it for relaxation and entertainment.
Maybe look at your requirements and see whether You suit Fab rather than the reverse? |

In fairness you raise a valid point, but let's face it,even the most devoted swinger isn't at it 365 days a year and the forums are great for lighthearted banter in between?
I've left this site several times and it's generally the forums that have driven me back oddly enough. |

The forums aren't the source of time wasters, in that they just wanna chat in them, but you might have a bit of a point here.
We discuss about time wasters all the time, if any of the topics give hints of how people are fooling members then time wasters might pick up on this and then change tactics.
Guys always asking how to get replies when there's probably a reason why they're being ignored in the first place...i never help them out coz i feel if they haven't got any skills to chat and are too impatient to learn them then that equals a shit fuck or desperate for something and don't wanna make any effort = shit sex. |

There are 22646 people online on here at this very point in time? They are not all using the forums, may not of even read them and don't have a clue that they even exsist. I doubt a few people posting on the forums have caused fab to turn into a chatting site rather than a meeting site....in your opinion. I'm sure that a lot of people will tell you that they get regular meets off fab. |

I have been here for 6 years and yes the site goes through changes etc but it certainly has nothing to do with the forums, in fact every bloke I have met never even knew they existed, so I think the stats quoted are that 2% of Fab members contribute to the forums.
So maybe the site does go through different stages at different times, if you are complaining about fantasists and timewasters....I would look at your own selection process before you even consider it is the fault of the forums!  |

I think the forums raise your profile. Just a simple post on the forums increases the number of fabs we get which increases the chances of people reading your profile a thus increasing the winks and messages we get. Posting on the forums show we are serous about what we do and not here to waste people's time. We have found that you get out of Fab what you put in. As far as the topics go, sure there are some that are repetitive but it's only natural since people rarely scroll through past subjects that are 3 pages back.

I haven't read the posts on the thread but this comes up every once in a while. So it would fall into the category of more inane drivel that isn't about sex.
I meet people who don't know about the forum and meet people through the forum where we have inane drivel conversations.

I'm not sure the forums are really used as a way to attract people to the site, most who use them seem to just stumble across them, and many many more who use the site never use them at all. I don't think there's any link between having forums on a site and a preponderance of timewasters.
And the forums never get in the way of me doing something I'd rather be doing. They're here to while away the time when there isn't something I'd rather be doing. |

jeez it's hard to get points across in text! Am saying the popularity of forums MAY have attracted the 'chatting' types more than the 'meeting' types - hence why meets are harder to find (as I said compared to 2 years ago). May not be the only reason - 'twas merely a thought
Keep an eye out for Fab Forum socials. They're usually a blast with plenty of people attending."
There have been some great meet events arranged on the forums. I'm going to one this Friday at Xtasia. Then another one for Halloween. |

Great point. The reason why it's harder to get a meet is because of YOU not time wasters. Anyone who has been swinging for years knows that it gets old after awhile.
When you first started swinging. You're excited, nervous, and horny. You go to clubs, socials, and parties every weekend.After a few years , the thrill wares off. Life gets in the way . Kids , work , and family takes over.
I've changed a lot over the years. The first thing I don't do is a no play social. I have no problems meeting for a drink with potential to play. But a absolute no play meet is not for me.
Second I don't meet a couple with a quick hello with the wife. I can't stand meeting a nervous wife and our first conversation is in a hotel room.
So in conclusion.... The site hasn't changed YOU HAVE.

There as people on here that just use the forums & appear to spend a lot of time chatting, either meeting sporadically or not at all. But as they're not taking anyone else's 'place' I can't see how it effects anyone wanting to meet.

I'd suggest not visiting the forums if you don't like the content.
Personally I've enjoyed more meets through the forum than actually messaging people.
Who'd have thought chatting to people and getting to know them would ever lead to anything eh? |

The forums are a good laugh if not taken too seriously. I've met more people due to posting on them and getting chatting than I ever did by messaging people so it is conducive to swinging for me |
