I use different towels for my hair die to hair dye
Hand towel that could be used by guests changed twice a week. "
Sheets and bedding weekly too |

"Towels get chucked in the wash after each use. Sheets every week
Why after each use. After all your only drying a clean body ? "
I'm shocked at the amount of people using a clean towel after every shower. Mine get used a few times but are immediately hung up to dry and not left in a wet heap.
How do you all keep up with the washing and drying? |

And also sloughing off dead skin cells. The towels moist after drying you, with skin cells on it, and warm. Attracts bacteria, turns mildewy, then rubbed into your body after your next bath/shower |

There are skin cells in every breath you take and you sweat about a litre of fluid into your mattress every night. I have towels that are over twenty years old and never once have they gone moldy!

I read somewhere, that towels should be washed, after every three uses. I always also hang my towels to dry after showering. I'm presuming we all have more than one towel? ...I change them twice weekley wash them in between, bath mats also. I have far to many towels and let's not even talk duvets, sheets and throws , which are washed on a Sunday unless I've had bedroom company. |

"Bed sheets every day, towels after each use.
I don't like to lay on a sweaty bed, and dry myself with a clean fresh smelling towel after a shower.
"
You change your bed every day? Does your life just revolve round your washing machine?
I'll take my chances on once a week... I'm way too lazy to be arsed doing it every day. |

Towels once or twice a week. I feel like more than that is really overkill. Hand towels get changed every few days because they get used more often.
Sheets about 3 times a month, I mean to do every week but usually end up missing a week if they look alright.
I dread to think of people's leccy bills who change all the towels every day!! |

Yup... that's a fair point, I do that every day but I'm not sure I'd compare bed sheets and towels to my knickers. I'm happy not washing my towels/sheets daily. I wash myself daily though so I guess that's good enough for me.
Carry on with your routine if it works for you. Much as I love clean sheets on my bed, I'm not sure my Mum would appreciate that level of extra washing. |

If I walked round with a towel between my bum cheeks all day I'd probably change that every day too. But I don't, I get in the shower, wash myself well and then use it to dry me off. It's not really a meaningful comparison. |

Interesting to see that some people change their towels after only using them once
Hotels promote the re-using of towels in the interests of the environment - less detergent and less energy; although I suspect that the real motivation is less cost. That said, those savings can be made by a household, especially, as someone has already said, you're only drying a clean body. I do like to air mine daily and change them (towels) every 3 to 4 days; once a week for sheets.

Only because I use it for body and hair and it's usually soaked wet through. No radiators to dry it doesn't help either |

Towel bales are so inexpensive nowadays, there's no reason to re-use really.

Except for not wanting to spend money on electricity and water for unnecessary washing of said towels? I hate cheap towels though, I'd rather have fewer good quality ones than loads of cheapo ones just so I can wash them all the time. |

Once a week for bedding but the day may change, before and after a meet even though the beds covered. Don't change them for jay though.
Towels, I've got loads of towels in the bathroom but only usually use two but all of them still get washed, I don't change them either, I was them and put them back, never think to replace them with some out the airing cupboard
Many years ago I used to be a live in nanny/ dogs body and they wanted their bedding changed every day, 3 kids and 2 adults |

It varies as I use a lot of towels for exercise, which just get 1 use. Home towels used infrequently, changed once or twice a week and live alone. I like fresh each time but I get that with my gym showers. Sheets etc every week, sometimes more if hot. |

The boys towels get washed after every bath but they drag them all over the floor, use them to soak up spilt water etc.. They have 1 bath a week at my house & 1 at their dads.
They also both have 2 swimming kits to wash each week as they swim on Thursday & Friday. I'll use my towels twice.
Beds changed weekly (more if I have a meet) because boys are stinky even when clean & I love clean sheets on a Sunday night.
I have 2 airers in dining room that I use to dry them & blast for 10 mins in tumbler |

I wash my towels every couple of days. As to my bedding, in the summer every week, winter fortnghtly unless I've had a really bad shift at the pub then weekly. Would never ever leave then longer than two weeks.
If I invite someone round, which is a rarity, I put fresh bedding before they arrive and fresh bedding on once they've left |

I don't have a laundry timetable, I have the machine on every few days & stuff gets washed.
If the towel isn't clean grab another out of the airing cupboard!
Bedding gets changed 7-10 days. |
