Take it to a car audio shop

NOT HALFORDS

It'll probably be easily fixable

If not get an after market alpine installed it's a win win situation

Possibly an rather fault or damaged insulation behind the stereo itself. Does it have a CD changer?

I've had problems with earth connections not been strong enough, but only when running at high volume on the head unit, it would cut out then start working after a short time

The usual culprits would be the earth points on the chasis leg or more often the gearbox earth.

Mine was the Earth in the back, just needed the paint scraping back a touch more, was easy to sort, only took a few minutes.

I've had all sorts go wrong! Blown fuses, degraded wiring still not managed to blow my 300 amp fuse yet though

Even managed to wreck a 3000 watt sub

It's all part of the fun
