Central

There is transport pretty much for everyone, unless you're in an isolation unit, due to infection : in which case I wouldn't be meeting you anyway.

People run or hire cars, take cabs, trains, buses, trams, underground, walk etc as they see fit. All have different costs and everyone has a different budget. You choose to walk 100 miles to me, it's your choice. You choose to sit at home, ditto.

We had a guy turn up to a meet on his pushbike.

Was a bit off putting!

Didn't play

Why not? Because of the bike or you didn't fancy him?

A bit mean that not meeting someone because he was on a pushbike. Could have had fun in the shower if you were worried about him being sweaty from cycling

Depending on the distance between myself and the meet, yes. I'd rather cycle for 20 mins than walk for an hour.

I don't have a car I use public transport which is fine - it does require more planning but I still enjoy the scene

I thought a guy was visiting on his motorycycle, when he discussed his bike. A little late and the weather turned to fierce downpours. He was on his bicycle and I wished I'd been better with my questioning.

But I have friends who'll cycle 60 plus miles and think nothing of it, so not sure that I'd be surprised what people do any more.

A hot shower, fresh towels and a cuppa and you can be good to go.

what does it matter what people turn up for meets on?

obviously you need to clean up if you have been cycling but so long as your attracted and clean does it really matter what form of transport they use?

The only issue I can see with a meet turning up on a bicycle, is that fact they might need a shower when they get there.

But then again this could be where the fun starts, once the meet has had a bit of a clean up.

Same could apply if you have been sat in a car for a period of time on a hot day

We love cycling but wouldn't cycle to a private meet.

I love dressing up/pampering up and being good to go from the very outset of a meet.

A meet is all about escapism sometimes too - biking it just seems a bit basic, or in the case of a single guy maybe - he's told his missus he's off for a cycle ride but omitted the 'meet' part of it
