Some of those that I used to prattle on with have left or don't post any more. I might miss them on a particular theme but not even think about them on other things. Sometimes they come back and sometimes they don't.

There are some I look out for either because I know I am likely to agree with them or because I know I vehemently won't.

The forum is always transient and there's been a few regulars who have been noticeable by their absence whose contributions I have previously enjoyed but I'm not one to properly 'miss' relative strangers on the Internet. Most people cease or reduce their activity and I don't really notice it until someone does a 'whatever happened to' thread or points out that they've gone missing (like someone did earlier in this thread) and then I might think "ah yeah, not seen them for a while" and I know the same is also true in reverse - I went totally offline for about 3 months at the start of the year and have cut back my level of activity on here in recent weeks and I'm sure nobody's noticed.

Those I do / would miss are those I regularly PM (so they start to cease being merely strangers to a degree even though I've not yet met them all) - a couple have gone UNLOS in recent months and they're the ones I do miss

. I don't like these threads either although unusually for me, I've joined in this one and named two people.

You contribute without cynicism or nastiness and on some threads with a knowledge that not many of us have......what's not to miss

Really? I don't like the way she won't agree with everyone else just to "fit in". Which as we all know is kind of mandatory.

I do think with these threads it makes people feel left out sometimes it comes across as a popularity contest a bit like the dynamics of a school playground...
