Kettering

Saw just how much fun people are having on the star wars or trek thread so thought I'd start this one.

Or we could arrange a meet and leave comics and sci-fi for the kids

Pretty much sums up fabswingers at the moment when swingers chat has a thread on Star Trek or Star Wars , and marvel or DC .

Fair enough for these threads in the lounge but why in swingers chat ?

Sign of the times ......

I started reading DC comics and loved them but as I discovered Marvel I found I preferred the more pithy characteristics of their Heros.

DC for comic books, Marvel for movies. DC doesn't know how to handle it's back catalogue as well as Marvel can. Although Marvel has had a CU for longer than DC has.

Marvel hands down. DC has some fantastic graphic novels but Marvel is where the true stories are imo

Always been a Fantastic Four fan, great comics but why are the movies so rubbush? The rest of MCU is brilliant. Only Batman comes close.

But I really want to look like Power Girl (GOOGLE HER).

The F4 movies are rubbish because FOX own the movie rights and keep making substandard movies just to hold on to them. If they don't make a movie the rights would automatically revert back to Marvel after 7 years.

Basically the last movie was a cash grab by FOX.

Exactly this! This is why they rebooted spiderman and came up with first class. Finally Spidey has come home but only after lengthy negotiations, its shitty that they can't all be under 1 umbrella

A bit of both, Batman and Daredevil were always my favourites, nice to see them both get some serious treatment in film and TV.

For me it's always marvel.

Their movies are better (ones marvel studios made) and so are their comics. Although the 'all-new, all-different' marvel series stinks of being overly diverse.

Why change existing characters race, sex, sexual orientation when you could make new characters?

Because new characters take time to bed down and build a readership. By doing this they have an established hook

Which really sucks imo.

There's like 3-4 spider-men, Spider-Gwen, female wolverine and Thor.

Technically Spider-man is still Peter Parker and Wolverine hasn't changed either. There are other Spider-men from the multiverse but they are completely different. Miles Morales is from a different place. Thor is a woman but Thor Odinson is still around. So for those examples they've technically not changed any of the actual characters and just made new ones

Marvel for me too, I can't imagine DC's Justice league being anywhere near as good as Marvel's Avengers. I'm a DC fan but Marvel just edges it.

Marvel has better films (although Chris Nolans batman trilogy are 3 of my favourite films) and tv but I prefer DC graphic novels. Some of the best stories in my opinion in any media are some of the batman graphic novels

I thought Logan died? There was a big fuss made over it.
