Nope, it's essential in my book - but it needs to be twinned with compassion.

Not enough honest folk in my opinion. Too many liars, cheats, timewasters and fake profiles on here. But on the forums some of you are ok.

Being upfront is important so you know what is going on, but I guess some people [reasonably] hold some stuff back until they get to know someone. Sometimes that is fair enough...I don't suppose telling everyone everything straight away is what happens in many walks of life...has to be within reason though...I don't mean finding out that the photo is from 25 years ago or the couple is really a single man or whatever...

Some information and sharing has to come from trust and people working out they can share stuff safely.

See I'm complete honest here, what you see is what you get, ask me anything and I shall tell.

The problem I have with swinging regularly, I spend a lot of time with my ex (various reasons) and when guys want to FaceTime and stuff but I can't, I tell them the truth and they get the right hump with me!!! Jog on, I have stuff going on away from here, I'm not gonna lie to anyone about why I can't talk etc.

There are many folk who have been tripped up by their inconsistencies, but I think there are some people who repeat the same lie often enough so that they actually believe it to be true

Im honest 99% of the the other 1% is my own business.

Some people prefer being lied to. Some people should cushion their 'truths'

for some it seems to be

words can cut deep. and when its the truth they can cut even deeper

but its still better than being bullshitted

Always honest here... Nothing to lie about anyway!

As long as others can live with their half- or non-truths, I don't have a problem with them. There's usually a reason, and I'm not likely to be in a position where I require an explanation....

Surely honesty is the best policy, especially if you are looking to meet people. Being anything less will always end up biting you in the ass... on saying that maybe that's why some are less than others!

Honesty is the best policy, most of the time.

I suffer from ME/CFS so don't/can't feel like playing all the time or always at the drop of a hat.

Clare has some Bi interest and 'has my blessing' (if that is the right way of putting it) to play alone with anyone she would want to. By putting that on our profile all we would get is single blokes and couples looking for an extra female, which isn't what we want as we both want this to be a shared part of our lives.

So yeah, lie or mislead a little bit, guilty as charged.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I think intent is the issue.

My name isn't Lickety but the intent isn't to lie about my name but to protect my identity.

I always prefer the truth, it doesn't have to be delivered with callous relish but it is much better than a polite lie that then leads to hurt.

I won't side track on omissions but I believe that what a lot of people mean when they say someone wasn't honest is that they omitted to tell them something material.
