Ribeye..rubbed with olive oil, crushed garlic, chilli, salt and pepper. Cooked rare. Served with spicy sweet potato wedges and a nice salad...and sauteed shallots, peppers, garlic and chilli...taken just to the point they char |

Lucky thing. Ribeye is my favourite and I like it rare just past the point of still mooing and with onion rings and corn on the cob. Not that I can have it anymore as I can't eat red meat so I'm trying to forget how good it tastes |

Nice! I don't get it for free but a 40% discount from the adjoining butchers can't argue with that! |

Don't mind as long as its tender and rare.
I tend to go with the breed its from to ensure that, with Aberdeen Angus and Dexter being favourites, because of the marbling through the meat x |

I'm a veggie
But when I ate meat, I liked my steak well done, with meat gravy, mashed potatoes, and cooked carrots.
If there was blood visible anywhere near my plate, I went hungry that night.

It is very rare, no pun intended, that I eat steak as I find it to be one of the most boring meals going, because as you eat it it's the same chew chew chew situation...
If I do eat it therefore it has to be a small piece of any type with a sauce on top thick chips tomatoes and mushrooms, cooked medium rare |

Ribeye is my favourite, cooked rare... pepper sauce on the side with rocket, cherry tomatoes and a corn on the cob (carb replacement - my first choice would be dauphinois potatoes)
I want this for my dinner now. |

"I've only ever eaten steak once and it had blood in the middle. I ate the edges and was a contributing factor to becoming veggie. "
It's not blood
Nearly all blood is removed from the meat during the slaughter process. Only an extremely small amount of blood remains within the muscle tissue.
Red meats, such as beef, are composed of quite a bit of water, mixed with a protein called myoglobin, and ends up comprising most of that red liquid.
The more myoglobin, the redder the meat |

I like most steaks...what's not to like?
However, a massive Porterhouse cooked Blue. Then warmed on the pass or oven. Served with garlic mash and baked veggies or salad and chunky chips. Delicious.
Those of you who turn wonderfully tender meat into chewy brown leather really need to give your head a wobble |

There's a really good Nigella recipe, where you rest the meat in a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice and thyme, before carving into strips |

i ordered medium well done and it was pissing blood and the fat wasnt cooked properly and i almost threw up eating it
my ideal steak would be lean and well cooked with some fried eggs and mushrooms

Ooh, we've never had ribeye, was it much better than the rump?
We normally get sirloin (our butcher gets it well-aged from Scotland and it melts in the mouth when cooked rare)
I use rump for posh burgers.
Always ever big chips, onion rings, grilled tomato and peas. (I am a child of the 70s)
