Somehow I got distracted en route to bed and whipped up a batch of drop scones... 
Totally yummy still warm with proper butter on, but I don't think the neighbours will be pleased cos I set the smoke alarm off

And they've got a yappy jack Russell.
And I know someone's awake cos I heard them about half an hour ago!

Drop scones are like scotch pancakes and you cook them on a griddle or in a heavy frying pan. So I put the griddle on, mix it up quickly, by then it's hot enough and just drop spoonfuls on. They cook in under two minutes.
And are specially good while still warm |
