Seems that parts of the Internet has gone mad because IOS 9 allows ad blockers in safari. People are comparing it to piracy.

Where do you lot stand on this? Is ad blocking bad? Do you whitelist sites you like?

Yes...you should be able to block ads especially the ones that keep popping up to collect your details so that other people can advertise to you.

No you shouldn't be allowed to block ads.

If a publisher has ads on their website you can choose whether to visit that site or not.

The publisher might rely on the ad revenue for their content/development/hosting.

I block all ads. No reason to have my browsing interupted by crap that I have no wish to see.

Whilst I do run Adblock plus on Windows I have also edited my hosts file to block all the known adserver domains.

Lists of these are regularly published online.

Web ads and tracking have got out of hand. Sites like Facebook track what you do online on other sites, even when not logged on.

And ads are too intrusive, annoying and ruin content a lot of the time. I use blocking selectively. If a site relies on inappropriate methodology to survive, it should reconsider its business model.

The apple lot have been paying to block what is, for 99% of us, something that's free. Plenty of ad blocking options out there, depending upon your equipment and browser.

I don't use many sites, but the ones that boil my piss are the ones that, when you've fucked an ad off, it immediately replaces it with another one

A bit like the red button reminder on Sky

You should also point all that google analytics traffic, to your local host.

I do I also run Ghostery (which is good but make sure that Ghostrank is disabled)to block most tracking.
