I do read some but I always look at profiles first if they are from people I've clearly stated I am not looking for, or they have public pics that don't take my fancy then I don't even bother opening the mail

19, couple are from people i'm already chatting to but most of them i'm about to delete.

I'm pretty good at keeping on top of my inbox, deleting intruders as i chat, and gone back to blocking a lot of people (don't care if that breaks my blocklist again, it's happening every week anyway), the pesterers are no more.

Lets say that 95% of the messages say "hi how are you wanna meet "

How long does it take to read and delete?

I have 38. I use my mobile most of the time so I can't go to unread messages like you can on a pc. They will all be replies of ok,thanks for at least replying to me,or parts of a conversation I was having and opened a later message,the unopened ones show on the thread. When you're chatting to someone it's easy for unopened messages to fall off the first page. I look at them when I go on the desktop site.

I agree with that. I sometimes put daft fake veri's on my profile. They are over the top 'sucks like a dyson' type, clearly just a total piss take. But the amount of people that believe them and mail me wanting 'some of that'.

It's not a time thing. Mostly I see the first line and I'm put off. If not I might look at the profile. I'm usually put off at that point. If not I read the message. Sometimes with a view to replying politely later others are maybe from people I chat to from the forums. Some days I get too many I don't get through them and I can't be bothered scrolling down. Eventually I do a bulk delete

It's not rude not to reply. My profile states I meet rarely and please take a lack of response as I'm not interested or not meeting right now. I don't owe anyone a reply and reading and deleting tends to get me more 'you read my message, didn't you like me?' messages. Considering I have my looking for turned off so people get a warning I'm not looking to meet when they message anyway I would think that would be enough. And I have never moaned about having to reply to lots of messages. I used to once a week when I was on the computer rather than my phone but other than making me feel better about being polite the outcome for the people sending them was the same.

I pretty much delete everything every day. Had 40 odd unread last night after a bulk delete of hundreds the day before.

Changed filters and tweaked profile and it seems to be working.
