"Why is it called East Anglia?
There's no 'North Anglia', 'South Anglia' or 'West Anglia'.
Why not just 'Anglia'?
Weird!!

I'll go with the area to the west was called Anglia. East of Anglia becomes East Anglia. |

"I'm in Derby. East Midlands is only slightly smaller than Asia by Fab geography "
This always makes me chuckle. I think the East Midlands takes up most of the UK according to Fab. |

Yeah. I'm not quite in east anglia but my area is classed as the east of England. It annoys me too. I've chosen south east as my location but I sometimes wonder if I should have chosen east midlands when people from Kent etc message me! |

There was the Middle Angles about 1200yrs ago which is the Midlands now and the East Angles - East Anglia.
And that is your history lesson for today |
