You need to use Malwarebyte, it's a free download, you will probably have to start your computer in safe mode to run it, because that pop up is very difficult to remove.

when I had it, I got rid of it by reformatting the hard drive back to its orginial settings!

That would work also, though a bit extreme, you would lose everything on your computer, passwords stored etc if you go down that route.

System Restore might work, just go back a week and try.

You might be lucky and get away with booting in safe mode as mentioned and running malwarebytes and after that I'd probably run a program called combofix too.

You may however have problems installing malwarebytes and updating it.

Good luck

Unlikely to but might be worth a try. The system restore directory is usually one of the first places these bastard files install themselves. Partly why I turn off system restore, that directory doesn't exist anymore that way

Thanks people. Thankfully it's not totally taken over my laptop yet. I'll try running them in safe mode as they didn't find anything when I ran it normally

Running in safe mode won't mean it'll find anything else necessarily. It's best to run malwarebytes in safe mode as when you boot in safe mode the malware / virus etc shouldn't have run / activated so the software can remove it.

I had a version of this a while back - it was a real pain to remove, it blocked booting into safe mode even. If you are still stuck try running Hitman Pro, and if that doesn't work post up your problem on http://malwaretips.com/forums/malware-removal-assistance.10/ - people on there were incredible helpful in fixing mine.
