Do you have pets? They're a pain in the arse at times, but I do love our pets. Recently got a little black kitten who has settled in nicely and taken to play fighting with our ginger tom. The dog has taken on the role of peacekeeper, and defended the tom when kitty was leaping all over him. So funny. He nosed the kitten out of the door and gave the tom a conciliatory lick on the head. The ginger tom now has a slobbery quiff. |

In my dark and distant past, I have raised 3 generations of Border Collies and thoroughly enjoyed every moment with each and every one of them. None of them had a slobbery quiff though I might add  |

I have a couple of rats and a guinea pig. We are thinking of having them meet. They have had a few meets through the bars and are quite sniffy and calm. But we have to be sure they won't fight. Also we have chickens. |

I have Pooch or should that be the other way round ha ha .
We have a brilliant time though he can be a tad naughty and he thinks every thing belongs to him |

Can't imagine life without pets... 4 chickens, 4 rabbits, 3 guinea pigs, 2 gold fish and hoping to add 2 kittens shortly

I have a cat that is over grooming itself as Paula is away , I have my daughters dog, who loves me more than her .
My next door neighbour has a bloody dog . That was bloody barking at 7 am this morning .
The first weekend for 2 years that I have slept in and I get woken by a bloody dog |

2 cats. Brother and sister rescue kittens that have gone from crazy 6 week old scrawny balls of fur to one little and one large, 6 year old weirdo cats. Love them to pieces, I can't imagine my home without pets in it. |

One is really poorly at the moment though and I'm not sure he'll pull through.  |

For fourteen years I had brother and sister cats who spent most of their lives pretending the other didn't exist.
I lost the girl last year and her brother never mourned, he spent a few days waiting to see if she'd come back then settled very happily into being a demanding only cat like he'd always wanted!  |

I think mine would be like this. They would cuddle as kittens but now just about tolerate each other (apart from the occasional fight). |

One very demanding bossy adult female cat in my house. One goldfish as its mate just died and ive bought it a new tank as the old one wasnt functioning properly - said goldfish is swimming around the new tank like a loony. I think its the light on the tank, he isnt used to it. |

She was very snuggly and he used to wait till we were curled up on the sofa then jump up and walk across her as if she wasn't there!
Now he's Mr Snuggles - one lap and two cats doesn't work clearly. |

The vet doesn't know. Doesn't understand it. He's got antibiotics just in case and he's on critical care food which I have to syringe feed him throughout the day. He barely moves, won't make an effort to drink or eat unless it's put in his mouth. |

He does wee and poo. Lots of weight lost. Almost 400 grams in 2 weeks. He's put on 10g in the last few days but he was a kilo and he's only 650g at the moment.
I think it might be a muscular problem as he doesn't walk, but then perhaps he just doesn't have the energy to. The vet is baffled! |

I love the cat brain..
put food down to her and she wants something else..then I spy her eating what I've put down..if she sees me she then pretends she doesnt want it any more..
when bored she does stuff deliberately to get attention..this means knocking lamps over etc or going to scratch the bed... |

Oh no. Vets normally are baffled by guinea pigs, they are classed as exotic pets!!! Most vets get their training in cats and dogs and very little training in other animals unless they choose to specialize.

Yeah, and it's quite hard to insure them as well...as he's not insured i've spent 100 quid on him this month...and to get to the bottom of what's wrong i'll need to spend that much again just for x-ray and blood tests. He's only just starting on the painkillers so hopefully there will be some improvement in a few days and I can consider whether investigation is viable. X |

Well, Alby hasn't improved at all despite being on strong painkillers. I've made the horrible decision that he's suffering too much and needs to be at peace. Heartbroken doesn't even begin to describe it. |

It's best for him, I hate that he's suffering. Selfishly though I'd love him to stay longer. But it's not fair to him. He's given up already so it's the right thing to do. |
