Does someone calling you a lovely young lady or guy put you off from meeting them? Do you find it abit cringy as they don't know you? Or is it just me?

If someone called me a lovely young lady I'd get a little upset, yes.

Follow your gut feeling. It would make me cringe. Depending on other things it might put me off, yes.

Nobody has ever called me a lovely young lady, on here or in real life. I would find it very weird if they did.

Not really but not a huge fan of those saying. Constantly saying "good girl " absolutely would put me off.

With your profile id say what the bloody hell you wanted me to!!

In answer, yes sometimes some of the mails we get are very creepy. I picture a guy hunched over a laptop rubbing his thighs...

It makes me laugh tbh. i told one of my friends that last night after he said it. Its always sounded like something you say to a teenager.

Being close to 30 with two kids and a mortgage i dont identify with it x

I don't like people I don't know calling me love, darling, sweetheart etc. I'm not militant or brave enough to correct them though.

Brighton - even Hove!

I'm not young so would be slightly puzzled but not annoyed or upset.

I think that's it. No one I know does it so why should someone I don't know do it? Thing is I did tell him it makes me cringe

That's exactly it for me, it seems like the kind of thing a doddery elderly man would say. And I'm not into pensioners.
