Do you do a weekly food shop. If so how much do you usually spend and do you stick to a regular Supermarket or shop around ?

No go as and when we need things. I don't like having to decide days in advance what to have to eat. If we fancy it we go and get it fresh. Might be why we spend so much on shopping |

This is part of the reason I'm asking as that is how we usually shop too. We're lucky to have a green grocer and a Butchers in our village so it is easy enough. We're trying the Supermarket out to see if the cost differs much and if its easier/more convenient doing one big shop instead. X |

"About £70/80... and yes, pref to shop around.
I should probably qualify that - the amount is for 2&half humans. " I should have included how many people in the opening post. Ours is for 3 and a half. |

Yes, we have a weekly shop, mostly supermarket, but some markets and smaller shops.
The cost is roughly £70 for two humans (much more if you include the dogs). But then, we have loads of fresh food and such so the higher cost is worth it to us

Him - I live near a tesco express and get all the yellow label stuff - some at 90% off! I get through no more than £10 a week typically, though once every couple of months or so I stock up on things like toilet paper, washing powder, beer etc and might spend as much as £20 in a visit |

I'm about 70 in Aldi and then maybe another 20 on top through out the week. That's for 4 of us. I could spend less as I've lots in my freezer needing used but I'm rubbish at rememembering to defrost before going to work ! |

I do around £40 a week for me and my lad but I do stock pile stuff when its on offer and sometimes have to chuck a few bits in for my mum to make it up to minimum order.
Eggs, deli stuff and fresh meat I get from work cuz I get a 40% discount so just buy it as and when |

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
I`m going to take this in a slightly different direction!
When I do the weekly shop I put foods of the same category in certain places of the trolley. I then unload them onto the conveyer in those categories then bag them the same. Now this may seem a bit anal but when I get home and I`m feeling a bit tired (I shop in the evening after w*rk) all I really need to do is unpack the one bag that has frozen and dairy stuff which MUST be put away there and then with the rest staying put until I have more time! |

Probably £100 ish a week for two of us, but we're greedy bastards and it's often popping in to get a few things from Waitrose rather than one big shop every week. |

I buy a weekly supply of essentials but usually myself and the kids decide on a daily basis what we want for dinner so I buy that fresh each day. It's actually reduced wasted food massively. |

I'm doing packed lunch at the moment and saving a lot of money (I work near far too many lush places to go for lunch!) |

Mrs ddc gets certain things that are cheaper in Chesterfield, plus veg from the market, while she's at work. The butcher delivers, then we do a final main shop at our local supermarket before work on a Monday morning, spending whatever's left. Total £80 per week (for 4).
We grow a lot as well though, (and have chickens)
And Yes, packed lunches for all.

I'd love chickens or ducks if I had room. |

"We spend about £120 a week (family of 4) on a tesco shop. Then we get eggs and meat from the butchers and extras from Waitrose. So probably in total about £170 a week in total." similar to us without the butchers.

Use the outdoor market by the bus station Courtney, time it to get there around four o'clock and they're practically giving fresh fruit and vegetables away. for example yesterday I got 3 cauliflowers, two white cabbage, ten banana's and a whole punnet (5lbs) of mushrooms. Total spend £4.00.

About 50-60 quid for humans ( 3 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 9) and add 20 for the pets ( one big dog and a couple of cats)
I shop varied... Sometimes local farm shop and shops in general.. sometimes main shops... I have a limited amount for food so I stick to my budget x |

Top Tip! Thanks
And to answer an earlier question - I don't buy lunch, I usually walk home to eat with Marc and my dogs and walk back. Good exercise too! Most of my lunch hour is spent walking.

I do a weekly online shop around £70 -£100 depending on what non food needs buying and vary between Tesco, Asda and sainsburys. I'd much prefer to go to Aldi and smaller shops but my illness stops me being able too |

I walk down to the market but need the bus getting back as I'm loaded to the gunnel's on my return trip.
My neighbours love it as I always share. |

I can eat at work for free at lunchtime but often don't bother as it's not very healthy. My lad just started reception year so gets free school dinners but only has them 3/5 days when it's stuff I know he likes he has pack lunch the other days |

I usually make a packed lunch for me. The eldest has lunch money & the youngest a combo of packed lunch & school dinners.
I spend way too much on a weekly shop, might as we'll pay my wage straight to sainsburys. Apprx costs £100+ a week. |

Exactly the way I do it. And even pack the car so it's milk and perishables that are unloaded first |

We buy all our meat in bulk from muscle foods (good quality and cheap). Around £60
Then we do a big shop every 3 weeks for around £100 and then top ups of between £10-20 a week
So over a 5-6 week period we spend around £50 a week for the 3 of us and we rarely have ready meals (occasionally Paul will use a jar or Mac cheese for him and child if im on a run of shifts) I make everything from scratch |

About £20/30 but then living in China is cheap if you buy locally sourced foods, and don't splurge on western food outlets...
Yes the have Costa and Starbucks here, coffee is very big business... |

Morrisons is shocking, I hate that I have to shop there but it's my local supermarket I love Aldi it's just a ball ache for me to get too as I don't drive |

I'm out on the road most days so I shop while I'm out. No special journeys, I buy what I need, it's always fresh.......
Anything between £3 and £40-50 depends on what I see. |
