"When making a cup of tea do you remove the tea bag before adding the milk or do you add the milk with the tea bag. My preference is to remove the tea bag first . "
I'm a Earl Grey tea drinker I don't add milk nor sugar. I drink my tea untarnished lol |

When drinking coffee you add the milk first so it stops the hot water from burning the coffee, tea you add the milk after to compensate for the displacement when the tea bag is removed |

When using a tea bag, which isn't often as I am a coffee drinker, remove the tea bag before adding the milk.
This is because I also add sugar, before milk (for optimal dissolve rates), and I don't want any sugar getting in the tea bag.

It really does not matter these days!
Milk used to be added before the water to lower the temperature and ensure the bone china did not crack.
with most cups/ mugs dishwasher safe make your tea however you wish!

Have to take tea bag out first ! Adding milk prior to this stops the brewing process and make it taste horrible. Oh and only a tiny splash of milk. If it's one of the fancy teas like earl grey etc then no milk at all. |

As I am a British man who loves a cup of tea I use scalding hot water on my tea bag and let it brew for several minutes then add sugar followed by semi skimmed milk. Come to think of it I drink more brews than water.... I'm not a fan of drinking water..... fish piss in water!! |

Makes no difference to the final taste. And that's after very exhaustive double blind testing. |

We don't drink coffee but we are big tea drinkers. Much prefer loose tea in a pot then add milk to taste, dependent on type. One of my best experiences was on a tea plantation in Sri Lanka doing tea tasting. The different blends were superb. All d*unk black and scalding hot.
However practically means a good quality tea bag in , piping hot water, brew, remove then milk.
And a bacon and mushroom sandwich if possible! |

"Green tea drinker so I leave the bag in.. no milk "
Same here, but the other tea is an occasional treat with biccies, to put it in Green Tea is illegal, surely. |

Oh...
I thought this thread was about something else....
But whilst we are on the subject - tea bag, sugar, hot water, milk, stir, remove said tea bag, stir some more then consume.
Perfect |

It does if you leave the bag in, keeps on brewing. Well it does with a PG pyramid. |

All finishing adjustments such as additives are made once the bag is removed. My tea makes perfect compost and doesn't need milk etc with it. Aim for perfection with compost, so that your plants flourish. All whilst you're drinking tea made in the proper manner. |

Milk in first, two tea bags to compensate for lower temperature of tea dispersion...
