Oh dear. I'm all for encouragement but sometimes it's really difficult. Is there loads or can you give everyone a little and each take one for the team? |

And chew it quick!
Teach him how to do it at home. Then he'll not only be a good cook when he's older, he'll impress his teachers (and the girls) now and you won't have to eat awful offerings.  |

Oh god I've had this, i just think of all the snot that made its way in!!
It's like junk modelling, I don't want my rubbish back in the 'shape' of a rocket thanks!! I used to say 'I'm going to show the people I work with' awful I know, I did keep the best ones!!! |

Heat it up in the oven and "accidentally" burn it....oops.
Or be like my Mum and Dad who were blunt and told me straight, "I'm not eating anything you make at that school, end of"

Cue severe gastroenteritis (for me. He didn't eat any...).

Teach him how to cook then, and he'll be able to do it when you can't be arsed. Although I have nephews and getting them to wash themselves was hard enough.
Best thing i ever learnt at school (I already knew everything else)

Awww bless.. I too have the lovely experience a cpl of times.
The first time we just ate it as fast as we could then once he was in bed sent out for a takeaway..
The second time was awful Just couldnt do it. I set the table, picked up the casserole dish with his offerings in and ooops i dropped it !!
He looked a little dismayed so a trip to pizzahut with him it was. Soon all of us were smiling  |

Welcome to my Monday evenings for the next 2 years!!! GCSE cookery - he was adamant he was taking it. His quiches, pastries & cakes are amazing but proper meal stuff aren't!!
Can you cover it in cheddar cheese? |

Marks saved the day, were off to Toby Carvery..Im going to forget to put the container in the fridge so when we get back I can say ,"Oh no that wont be any good now son"all in all though with cost of the carvery for 4 and the cost of the ingredients he needed to cook his meal,its gonna cost about £40  |

the ones that said anything but not to eat it should really man up and have a few mouthfuls
before you say sorry dear im a little bit full
if you got to moan suggest ways to improve it though teacher should know better
so im blaming the poor cookery teacher who should learn how to cook as not everyone likes the same as you do
think yourself lucky I had a friends 3 kids wanting me to try there food that they brought home I got warned about it 
so suggested something else to add to it then we dug out the stuff and added the ingredient to the food which improved it greatly and it ended up on the table to eat |

It's not their inability to make something look and taste like it should that puts me off eating school cooked foods,it's the "extras" that go in,the ingredients manhandled by other people (can I have this onion? No put it down),the dropped utensils and ingredients that aren't washed and the time it's left out for the flies to taste test. Amongst other things (I wasn't going to mention nose pickers but well). |

serve it with a bucket load of rice and mix well - have to say kids cook good stuff at school - my first thing i did was cauliflower cheese - apparently i cooked it every week for months |

My middle son did food tech GCSE and I got emails from the senior management team because he had to make up lessons out of hours due to sporting commitments and ended up being supervised by one of them do produce work for his portfolio - they all said best thing they had ever eaten. He now makes pasta from scratch (whereas he used to burn chicken nuggets) and everything he cooks is awesome and he is amazing with herbs and spices. You never know ... he may just be the next Heaton ... |
