"Either stop exercising so much or look at boosting your sodium levels?"
Sodium levels? Can you explain more please? I do a lot of running and I never add salt to food so I'd say I'm pretty low on sodium, is that an issue? |

As diamondsmiles pointed out, low salt levels are one cause of muscle cramps during long runs.
“Salt” generally refers to sodium, which is an essential electrolyte. During exercise sodium is lost in sweat and blood sodium levels drop. |

"How's your salt in take, to much salt can cause this, but if your lacking in salt a little bit can help"
Tbh I don't really use alot of salt, what would be the best way to up my intake? Obviously I don't want to eat spoonfuls of it though lol |

Lol - does no-one understand their bodies?
Ok, two possibilities.
1/ have a couple of those isotonic drinks, one during and one after a run.
2/ there's electrolyte meds available at Boots &c where you can mix it with water.
Not that I run - perish the thought! - but I have noticed this a few times after extended fucking sessions.
As I said, if it persists, maybe think about running less? |

There are various "sports drinks" with all the electrolytes in them just try to get one not loaded with sugar lol.
First port of call is drink more water even if you don't add salt to your food it's more likely you have high sodium than low sodium
If you're running a lot you'll be sweating a lot which is gonna dimishish both salts and water |

Yeah agreed drinking more water is a start but the sodium in such drinks is what your body is craving. |

"Try to drink at least 3 litres a day "
That's about eight as a Base but with running I'd add some more.
Plus something to replace the salts lost in sweat.
Sugar free power aid etc.
I think my protein did some powder but it tastes like ass |

You need to be drinking while you're eating too... your kidneys will thank you and you'll be nice and clean inside but you'll just piss it out again.
That's the point - you need to replace what you've lost by exercising. Fluid and salts. |

Yeah its like half a gram dosage but it's meant to be taken with I think over a liter of water or something.
Either way it costs pennies |

Nuun tablets In water.
Also tonic water is very good due to the quinine.
Tastes vile tho.
Don't start adding salt to your diet willy nilly.
Proper nutrition, hydration and stretching before and after should help.
Also make sure you are wearing the correct running shoes |

Yes it is an issue.....check potassium intake too....ive suffered this in all muscles because i dont like salt.....never have since childhood and caused me no end of agony and still does...i find that quinine tabs and 2 bottles of isotonic drinks a week has worked for me to keep levels stable and now rarely get an attack.x |

Water, drink more water (make sure to have a glass before you go to bed).
After extended periods in hot climates using beer as my only form of hydration, I used to wake up during the night and in the morning thinking my shins were going to snap from the calf cramp. |

HI-5 tablets are pretty good. I use them when cycling. Cheap and replace electrolytes etc.
Just mix with water so you re-hydrate and replace what you are losing. |

Which will dilute sodium in the blood even more. Exacerbating the situation.... |

Have you thought about asking this question on more sporty forum? I wouldn't go to a running forum and ask whether or not to finger a man while sucking his dick....just a thought. |
