I've been to every continent over the last 30 years with the option to live in many of the countries I've visited. It's far from perfect, but I'd always choose to live in the U.K. |

Am sure there are many Germans who would argue that Berlin is its own state, just as there are British people who think the same about London.
I love Germany in general, but Berlin feels like home ,hence why I spend so much time there.
Its multi cultural feel and its liberal attitude towards most things fit a lot with my own thoughts.
It will be interesting to see how the migrant influx changes the city, but as they are only due to take around 6% of the quota I doubt it will be affected as much as other cities in the country.
I think those along the dutch and belgian borders are earmarked to take 30% + |

"Ulan Bator. Sri Lanka. India. Kenya.
Just....not here!"
No barbed wire at the border yet.
Please feel free to vacate at any time.
Piss off so that others may take your place.
Why do people complain about our "green and pleasant land"
To live here is to have won the lottery of life. |

Late November starts Mediterranean
February is Florence

And on it goes...
Doesn't require tons o cash - does require creativity.
Been doing this for maybe six/seven years now. Lesson for me is contrast is my friend.

I love living in Britain. Got to be near a Coast though. I like to travel and have been to some fabulous cities all around the world, but Britain is my home (yes that's Britain - not England, Scotland or Wales.)
That said, a few holiday homes in sunny places wouldn't go amiss. |

"This one, with a better government."
As the children off immigrants we'd like to say;
UK is the best.
Yes we pay too much tax, and for our petrol, fags n booze. But that's a small price to pay for free child education, free doctors n hospitals. Roads, reliable power grid. Clean water. Religious freedom. And the UK armed forces.
if u make an effort the people here are the most relaxed, welcoming n tolerant in the world.
God bless the UK. |

I lived on Vancouver Island for 2 years - been back 4 times - just come back from a month's stay - miss it every time I leave.
You can ski whistler til April - go up in the morning and then drop back down to the beach to sunbathe in the afternoon.
For the value of my property in the UK, I could get a 4 bed, 4 bathroom lodge in an acre of land, with outbuildings and hard standing for boats and SUVs - I looked recently and found a lovely place just outside Nanaimo. |

"This one, but wouldn't mind an unlimited budget so I could be in lots of others too."
Definitely.
We are so lucky here for do many reasons... Lots of different types of landscape, history, our rights and infrastructure and even the changeable weather
If I HAD to move to another country... The only place I ever had any inclination to stay longer than the actual trip was Malta. Lovely people, great weather, oodles of history and no language problems.

Everything perfect in my opinion
I never got to spend much time in Nanaimo. Always off the ferry and exploring the island, loved the west coast, camping out at Port Renfrew and so on
You have clement weather, skiing, beaches, and lots of fun |

I haven't travelled widely enough to make an informed decision but I do have a bit of a thing for islands - Jersey, Malta and Isle of Man all spring to mind.
I'm a bit of a home bod though - can't really see me ever really wanting to leave the UK. Love some parts of northern Scotland. |
