I only started drinking coffee a couple of years ago. I never understood the point of drinking a hot drink if I was thirsty, a cold drink was what I wanted. However, I started to crave coffee and then spent six months thinking I don't need another addiction.
I caved in and now I can't imagine life without coffee. My folks gave me cash for Christmas last year so I bought myself a proper coffee machine and I think it might be my favourite gadget.
I've run out of my favourite pods (they're on the way... cause I'm an addict!) but I want to know what's your favourite kind of coffee? |

"Black coffee with milk on the side.
I am not a fan of fancy coffee and syrups etc
"
I had a flat white when I was out last weekend and now I don't think I'll ever have anything else.
This morning I had some vanilla in mine and it was delicious. I think I may make another. |

If it's every day I grab one on the way to work from a decent coffee shop. Small skinny double shot latte with a dash of sugarfree hazelnut syrup. As a weekend treat I grind my own beans if I'm making it at home. I personally like a 50/50 mix of a good Sumatran or Javan with Kenyan beans. Organic fair trade ones if possible. Double espresso it in a wide mug then top up with steamed organic whole milk from the daily up the road to make a latte. Bloody lush. |

I've got a Phillips Senseo machine.
And I wouldnt swap it
Easy and c simple it makes a great espresso or Americano.
I order my pods online, as you can't get the varieties in the supermarkets.
I love a really intense Kenyan coffee, or a mocha blend fora lighter drink |

I have a dualit machine that does pods and normal ground coffee so when I'm too skint to splash out on pods I can still have nice coffee.
I have a bean grinder too (ooer!) but I've not used it yet. |

I've never had coffee from one of those machines how do they compare to fresh ground? |

I used to consume coffee by the tanker full .....
I drink it now and then now.
Over consumption led to many probs for me.
I enjoy it brewed in a cafetiere;simple, black and refreshing. ( who does that remind you of .. hahahaa ) |

The little pods are great, saves fannying around cleaning it. I like most coffee but now I fear I'm a bit of a coffee snob... I can't remember the last time I drank instant... not that I wouldn't but if there's a choice... |

It doesn't take a huge effort to clean our grinders just go round it with a pastry brush and the grounds from the cafetiere go on the compost. I won't drink instant either, it's a different drink to me. |

If I'm making it myself, espresso with a little bit of steamed milk.
If I'm out and about, just a filter coffee or flat white.
If I need a boost, mocha with an extra shot. |

I really need to buy some beans. Do you have any recommendations? I like the Taylor's Hot Lava Java for my cafetière, strong is good.
When I first got the machine they sent me a pile of pods to try so I had one of each during the course of the day. I was still awake at 3am!!

If you can find it I recommend Yirgacheffe its Ethiopian and mostly only available on line, otherwise Sumatra beans are nice. |

I recently got a real coffee maker so I could make my son a baby chino. He cant have dairy or soya so most coffee shops are off the menu. But my local Costa are happy to make it with his milk at no cost....(and they supper clean everything... Nice). |

If I can get it really fresh Jamaican Blue Mountain is my favourite coffee but normally I'm restricted to Taylor's and currently I'm favouring their After Dark blend. I tend to use an Aerobie AeroPress Coffee Maker which I originally purchased for camping but very quickly replaced my Senseo machine as I find it does a better job. |

"I make myself a lush full fat cortardo every morning with a hint of coconut oil Mmm
Oh I love the sound of coconut oil in my coffee! Where do you get that? "
Most supermarkets and Holland and Barratt
It's called oil but is a solid below 30 degrees . Add it to an expresso for a super powered bullet proof coffee xx |

Ironically the more intense/ roasted a bean is, the less caffeine it has
So my intense pods at 9 give me the big flavour I want without being overloaded with caffeine |

Yes this...
I'm super excited now... I have a brand new jar of coconut oil on my spice rack! I'd totally forgotten about it. I've just put a tiny bit in my cup and the machine is on!

My expresso machine does not do pods, I like to grind the bean (he he) so I also froth my own milk (it's getting worse ) I prefer to add the coconut to the milk as it makes the milk sweeter and thicker foam xx how much ? Well that's personal choice xxx |

Oooh I can do that... presumably it'll just melt in the milk (do you add it after you've frothed?) I'd guess it'll make my frother all sticky if not? |

I add before frothing lol but after will add the taste, before for the texture
As for your frother becoming sticky , you should always wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use lol , milk is worse than the oil for stickyness xx |

Yeah I do that... mine has a bit that comes off so you can wash it and I fire some steam into one of my espresso cups every time.
I put it in the frothed milk and then tasted and added a little more straight to the cup. It's amazing! Thanks for the tip... I love coconut. |

At what point in the day should one stop drinking coffee?
I fear I might be too late now but does it keep everyone awake? I can have a cup after dinner and sleep fine but on days like today, I think I may have overloaded.
Maybe I should start on the wine now. |
