Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Isn't college football like watching under 18's soccer?

Ie a bit weird if you're not related to a participant?

I'm a fan but can't follow that well, I'm useless at trying to find streams of games and I follow the Vikings, purely for the fact I have a friend in Minnesota. They always seem to suck year in year out

To be honest, you do have an unfair advantage...

But when I was 10 it was all about the Miami Dolphins, no idea nowadays!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Fabio, is there a ball related sport you don't like?

I might be easier to set out all of your teams for everything just in case you find a Jets fan who also happens to be a Spurs fan. How would that work for you?

As I understand, and Fabio might correct me, but College football is huge Stateside, like the Boat Race but seasonlong?

I didn't say it was unpopular, I was wondering why, when other sports with "feeder" leagues/competitions don't get anywhere near the prominence.

Minor League Baseball

Moto 2/3, GP 2/3

Reserve team soccer

Hey Fabio, been a Raiders fan since '83 after watching Marcus Allen rip a 75 yard TD right back through the heart of the 'Skins D.

Started playing the game in '86 and have seen many games at Wembley including the old pre-season games that used to be held there.

Pity you're a Jets fan..it's been a loooong time since Joe won the Super Bowl!

Ah Fabio twas going well until you mentioned the Jets. When C4 brought American Football to the screens over here in the 80' s Marino to Clayton or Duper was sheer poetry. It's been a bit downhill since then but Fins all the way

Are you heading to the Wembley game this year? The lad and I have been to a few including Fins v Giants (he's a Giants fan) and Fins v Raiders. Don't think we are going to make it this year, but I reckon it will be a cracking game

I remember that programme! He even suited up and sat on the bench. Which game did you go to? Cowboys v Bears or Cowboys v Lions?

I don't care who's playing as long as I'm watching it with American friends on base and having amazing pulled pork sandwiches, light beer and oodles of popcorn.

Oh just been told I should have said Green Bay packers as one of the guys played for the, for two years ...ouch !!

Will be at the 2nd & 3rd games in London.

Pulling for the Eagles again, even though they've just cut Tebow, have a soft spot for the Cowboys too.

Something quite bizarre when the tactics of a game demand you change your team dependant on who has got the ball? A game with play time of one that takes four hours to complete. The wearing of helmets for non internal combustion related sports is a worry!

Watching American football always leaves me feeing deflated or is that just Tom Bradys balls?

I went to the Super Bowl last year and the on field sport was completely secondary to the non sporting activity in the true American spirit of over kill and missing the intention completely!

Roll on the rugby World Cup proper physical chess played by true sportsmen

As they say in Oakland "real men wear black" and having watched Bo (awesome talent) run over Boz (extreme hype) it just has to be the silver and black for me, it was great when they returned to Oakland after all the Coliseum is where they belong..Go Raiders..

College football well it has to be those Fighting Irish of Notre Dame..Go Irish

The quarter back is one of the key players in the game of American Football? Taking soft balls Brady as an example his total yardage ( that's running) was 4,100 yards or just over two miles.................that's in a season!

Funny game!

With a cracking view

Cheesehead fan !!!

I'd be at the front of the queue if they came to Wembley ,,

Just need to save up to visit Wisconsin !!! lol

Shame there's no 'free-to-air' coverage this season ...

Apart from the BBC ... who are starting their highlight coverage in November !!!

I got hooked when 'World of Sport' showed a 10 minute highlights slot of the Superbowl.

In the late 70's ?????

Half way through the season !!!

And I'll miss 'Ask Mike' !!! lol

Yo! 49ers fan here. I don't know how the defence will do this season seeing as most of their line backers left in the offseason. You cant replace Patrick Willis and its such a shame about Aldon Smith. Now looks like hes off to the raiders. But Kap is looking good, got a good set of running backs and receivers for a change.

Another Raiders fan here, though they were the LA Raiders when I first got into American football (God bless mid-1980s Channel 4).

It's the strategic nature of the game that appeals to me - it's like chess on steroids.

Got to work bleary eyed on Friday morning after staying up for the opening game. How can you not love Gronk?

Love Madden too - helps appreciate the mechanics of the game, the strategy, choices and time pressures ( ie why Pete Carroll was right to call THAT throw play at Superbowl 49 )

the niners are a weird one... because almost anyone important either left or retired.. i think the nfc west is the toughest division in football and may come last

that call was never right..... should have been a super jumbo package straight up the gut and lynch scoring....

the problem with pete is that he can be too cute for his own good.....

It was totally the right play. Thirty seconds to play, one TO left, he had to throw. Yes it was a yard out, and yes it was Beast Mode, but there's still no guarantee he would have scored.

Pats defence was set up for the run, they were expecting the run, hell, the whole world was expecting the run. So he threw.

It was a percentage play. If it had come off, you were Superbowl champions. If it didn't come off, the clock stopped, you still had a timeout and you still had Marshawn Lynch.

Of course, it could have been intercepted too.

If it had worked, Carroll would have been hailed a strategic genius. As it is, he was crucified. But it was still the right thing to do.

Agreed. Seahawks are the team to beat. They'll be contenders for the superbowl that's for sure. SF are almost starting again and rebuilding. I can see it will be a while before they challenge again.
