Nothing as heart breaking as that but I do find managing people issues take up a disproportionate time of my working day compared to pure 'work' and some of that can be challenging and, at times, upsetting

So sorry to hear that. It must be a complete gut wrench. I have lost some friends through work but that has been few and far between. And that pails into insignificance when compared to a child. Sending virtual hugs your way x

I've kind of grown hard when people die and it doesn't affect me. What does break my heart is the state of the social care system and the absolute lack of effort by social services.

Not really; it's just frustrating when I get things organised and my gaffer then decides to think for himself

Been in that situation..you give them the problem and the solution and you see them go all thoughtful and go, I think we will take a different direction...

Face...palm...

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

No. I couldn't do a job that would be likely to affect me in that way. I'm at the stage in my life where I go to work because I have to pay the bills so I'm taking the easiest and least stress free way to do that so that I can give my all to being wife and mum when I'm at home. I couldn't do that if work affected me emotionally.

No, as I don't deal with people. But, implementing the decisions made by the powers that be can be a bit depressing sometimes. I didn't get into what I do to take funding away from service budgets.

Usually my job causes me such frustration that it makes me cry. I come across some heartbreaking cases, but I don't deal with them directly, I deal with the people that cause the heartbreak.
