Worst book in the history of all that has ever been published. Reads like it has been written by a 14yr old trying to get a 'D' grade at GCSE (and failing)
If anyone makes any reference to this book in their profile or messages I hit instant delete - huge turn off because SERIOUSLY have you ever read any other books if you think this one is good??

I do find it amusing when people are told 'you're not doing it the true way!'. People will do kink however it suits them (providing consent is obtained, why should anyone consider if their kink suits others?).
I've only read sections of the book and it wasn't for me. The only thing that annoyed me was the surge in numbers of people attending events who had forgotten to bring along their understanding of common decency just because they were going to a sex or kink party. I think there's finding inspiration where a person is driven to learn and to understand more about a subject then there are people who mindlessly try to recreate and imitate what they have read without deeper consideration.

There is nothing wrong with learning about something and wanting to explore more. There is everything wrong with people assuming that one book represents the whole kink scene and there is everything wrong with people assuming thay because they identify as a man, they can call themselves a Dom and have the pick of the women and order them to do whatever they want.
I would love to see 50 shades featuring Ms Grey next to show that you don't have to identify as a man to be Dom but I fear it wouldn't sell as well. |

You may be right. Maybe the larger the club or the more people present, the higher the risk of bad behaviour as people feel hidden or protected within the numbers. |

I liked the film personally and don't think that it was that bad. Anything that encourages people to talk and engage in thinking that there is more to sex than laying on your back with your legs in the air has only got to be a good thing in my opinion!

Maybe, although I'm a regular at a club night with a few hundred people and we've just not seen that kind of thing happening (one of my lovers organises it).

I based my alternative name Delorean Grey on the 'back to the future' car, Earl Grey and the Oscar Wilde character Dorian grey. All these inspirations predated fifty shades and I've had this persona since 2010, I've had a steampunk writer threaten me with copyright infringement because he thinks I stole his idea, when I told him I had a vistaprint invoice for name cards from 2010 he then realised that the 'intellectual property' for delorean grey is actually mine. I think my name has quite a lot of originality and has served me well lol.

I have two takes on it.
One the one hand, Grey is at the very soft porn end of the Dom/sub reality, chick lit at its worst if you like (Jilly Cooper of the new millenium?!). Ive noticed a whole load of wannabe Greys on here in the last couple of years.
