It depends why. If it's a person I'm angry with and its possible I'll try and tell them otherwise I talk about it to someone else and get it out of my system that way.

Used to break something that I immediately regretted breaking. The idiotic feeling afterwards took the anger away quick.

Now I just spend some time off on my own and chill for a bit. Work through the anger.

It used to result in comfort eating (not good swallowing your emotions down, I have found) but now just work it out physically and then discuss it after, sometimes.

Then-

Let it go

Can't hold it back anymore...

Erm, sing it out!

I do feel it's an age thing with me. I've just given up being angry at stupid people who will never change. I find laughing at them helps.

I've been bullied for years and I couldn't change how he behaves so I changed the way I behaved and it's totally worked. I'm a better person for it.

I was never angry enough to need to manage it. It just upset me. Not good for my health so I took on board some really great advice and changed the way I reacted. It almost seems like a sport to him but I don't satisfy his need for a reaction any more. That part I find quite funny. He doesn't. That appeals to me even more.

But it usually ends up with me just shouting every swear word I can think of, at the top of my voice sat in the car, or stomping around at home (if Ben is out)

Speaking of anger management, I had to do a stint for getting into fights at school. Those fights were mostly with bullies, so I learnt nothing because I thought it not my problem, however, now I'm older, I realise I might have benefitted from it. Might also have been useful to have just ignored my pride and told the teachers I was being bullied

I agree that it can serve a very useful purpose. It can be good for you, as long as it's not explosive and out of control, and is thought to be a healthier response than fear.

I disagree, I've tried to get rid as much negativity in my life as I possibly can, it has had a great improvement on my mental health, I don't think it's healthy to make myself I'll when I can do something a out it, I'm I'll enough through things I have no control over, I can still get pissed and annoyed but that doesn't conjure up those emotions real anger cause.

I've also taken drugs that block out all emotions and there not good

"Im all for being chilled but anger is a healthy emotion imo. If you can't get angry you need to lower your dosage or start to worry.I disagree, I've tried to get rid as much negativity in my life as I possibly can, it has had a great improvement on my mental health, I don't think it's healthy to make myself I'll when I can do something a out it, I'm I'll enough through things I have no control over, I can still get pissed and annoyed but that doesn't conjure up those emotions real anger cause.

I've also taken drugs that block out all emotions and there not good

Also been on drugs which "levelled the emotional peaks and troughs" however, I think accepting my anger has helped me to assess what needs to change in my life"

these drugs didn't level me off, I'm on medication now that levels me off.

These drugs completly wiped any emotion from you and left younrockimg in a corner

Being angry & not being able to do anything about it is the worse.

"Being angry & not being able to do anything about it is the worse."

Actually, I think that's it. For most things I have a way of dealing with it but when I can't do anything about the cause I get frustrated and feel impotent.

I have a punchbag in the garden. And a pool table in the dinning room for talking it out if needed.

Calming my mind is a good skill and habit that I practice. Acceptance of anger can be helpful. I may do some physical activity or exercise. Or go to a calming place, or just change the scenery, be outdoors.

Talk something through if needed.

"How do you shake off feeling angry?

By rembering that

"For every minute you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness.""

Why on earth do anger and happy Ness have to be mutually exclusive?

I've been angry, exhilarated and happy at the same time when doing stupid things and it's not gone quite right

I don't think I've ever really been angry. Not to the point where I felt I've needed to calm down.

I talk it through if it's an issue with someone, if not it makes for a very assertive 40 mins front crawl in the pool!

The man who runs our office is a cock of the worst kind.

Still... I think the best I can offer is an actual eye roll. It's made me quite happy that I'm not angry. He doesn't have that power any more.

I think that might be one to me.

"Shout at inanimate objects. Usually makes me calm down.

I'm a great believer in this also I quite often threaten objects in silly ways like my computer at work gets told that I'll smack it to bits with a bath sponge

Natural or synthetic?

"

Never had to test it out it usually starts doing as its told

I'll get out a range of sponges and threaten myself with a smack then.
