So far....

The ipad pro has been announced, with a 12.9” screen. The width of the Pro is the same as the height of the Air. It has an A9X chip, 1.8 times faster thank the iPad Air 2. Its screen is 2732x2048 pixels and the body is 6.9mm thick and it weighs 1.57lb. Apple says the battery will last 10hrs.

The iPad Pro will be usable with the Apple Pencil. The pencil is powered, so will need recharging.

WatchOS 2 will be coming on September 16. Meanwhile, Apple have done a partnership with Hermes and it has added more colours and bands to the range.

It also says there are 10,000 apps available for the Apple Watch and it is getting a facebook messenger app.

The new macbook is so smart they combined the power cable with a usb port that doesn't take a usb anythingsized so you can buy the 35 dollar apple magic usb/power port to usb adapter and hope you can find/remember it when you need to use anything usb, while not charging of course.

Now that's innovation

I used to love apple and their product releases. Now the just release the same crap year on year charge through the nose for it and people buy it thinking is the best on the market without looking around.

You have to admire their marketing skills

Exactly, I'm lead to believe that most of their software and hardware "innovation" is bought in from 3rd parties that they swallow up. The designed in California thingy on the back should read "Cleverly Procured...."

Still, the end product is well sexy!

I was never an Apple fan boy but I converted and haven't used an Android device ever. Contemplating it as my update is due in October.

I don't feel the need to update every time a new product comes out but I love each of my Apple devices.

Yeah I'm bitter. Bitter that people have got phones with better cameras, better apps, don't pay through the nose for everything, don't have chargers that break every 6 months, or a battery that runs out in a few hours... And for half the contract of an iPhone.

6 years ive stuck it out hoping things would improve with each new release. Ive heard the 6 is a bit better but it's huge! Ive got little hands and want a phone that fits in my jeans pocket not one that needs a handbag!!

Other manufacturers concentrate on the best a device can be, they don't come up with gimmicks to make sales. 3D touch is a pointless idea and has very little uses. the iPen?...its just a stylus!

Even one of the founders of Apple said they are lagging behind, add to that the Android OS is far better than iPhone OS they have to come up with gimmicks.

Apple make nice gadgets and market them very well.

Don't understand fashion, so don't understand the appeal of style over substance.

The insistence on having their own adapter instead of USB and changing the iPhone adapter making all those iPhone devices useless sums apple up for me.

I said for no reason. Didn't speak for Apples plus or minus points as I don't know enough about them in comparison. You've implied a lot it seems. From my experience a lot of the criticism is from people who don't use Apple devices or have for very short periods of time. Clearly not the case in ALL scenarios before you jump on that

I'm also not a fan boy. as I said I didn't use Apple for a long time as I wasn't convinced and my Windows phone did me well. I'm after a new MP3 player im looking at a range of Sony models as I don't see the benefit in just getting a 32gb iPod. Hardly strikes me as a fan boy or Mr all things Apple

I preferred the old mobile phones that came in red boxes and stood on street corners. but they took them away so I had to get one of these difficult things that you have to take care of yourself.

My iPhone 4s will suffice until it breaks, then I will probably go for a cheap phone as my eyes don't work on small screens and I can't be arsed to carry a large phone.

I laugh at people when they ask if we have an iPhone charger they can use because theirs is broken. We have 3 chargers and usb cables that plug into the PS4 that charge our Samsung,Nokia and other available brands. Sorry, you'll have to buy another one and everyone I know with iPhones and tablets have had cracked screens.

When you look back over the past couple years, apple look like followers not leaders. Sure they did a better job at marketing and locking down their platform but they've not innovated in a long time:

iPhone - I had a palm pilot with GSM back that did PDA and phone many years before that came out. OK it wasn't a single unit but worked well and the battery lasted...

Apple watch - droid ones have been around for a couple years or so...

Apple-pay - well they're 2 years behind the curve on that one, at least...

Wonder if their next "revolutionary" step will be wireless charging

A good question. Although it's interesting to note that no-one has been able to even come close to producing better hardware than Apple, even with Apple there for them to rip off...so you have to assume that they would not have been quite so interested in improving things, left to their own (ho ho) devices.

Apple did not invent the smart phone, there were touch screen smart phones long before running Windows systems. I had some.

Android came along a couple of months later than the first iPhone but allowed people to write their own apps. It took apple a good couple of years to allow that.

I had an I phone from the 3g to the 5s and was / am an app developer.

I have now moved to a Sony device on the latest android, and whilst I will be biased as everyone will defend their choice to the death, it is comparable in build quality and now a superior os. Both in developer terms and user.

From a tech perspective apples strongest innovation has always been their marketing strategy.

In all honesty in the vast majority of cases all Apple have done is take product invented by others and simplify them, make them idiot proof and get Johny Ives to put them in a beautiful package. Granted this is not a bad thing but I wouldn't say it was revolutionary.

Not sure what your point is here, but it does reveal quite a bit about the excellence of Apple hardware.

The HTC Dream was the first Android smartphone released. It was released some 3 months after the second iPhone, the 3G. Which itself came a year after the first iPhone.

Now, if you can believe it, there are still people out there using the 3G and 3GS today. Think you'd be lucky to have found anyone using the Dream even a year after it was released.

Without Apple and the technology we'd all still be playing snake on a Nokia

Only thing this thread has proved is some people love and some people hate. Just makes me chortle when people state everything Apple does is crap or shit.

I am an apple fanboy

Mac mini 2011, iPad Air, iPad 4th gen, iPad 2nd gen, iPod classic 20gb, iPod classic 120gb, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s on pre-order tomorrow, iPod touch 3rd gen, 2 Apple TVs, iPad mini 1st, Apple watch

Anyway this key note was interesting from a product point of view

I actually don't want an iPad pro for the main reason is that I travel a lot, and not overly creative so it looks a bit pointless.

No changes to iPad Air

Applewatch I have already got so did not want a gold or pink 1

iPhone was what I was really looking at, and I am getting it on pre-order because my 5s contract is finishing this week

I am hoping the Mac mini gets a better refresh than last year as ram was not upgradable, and in certain configs less powerful than 2011 & 2012 versions

And yes I can make a pc and I use a raspberry pi as well

Same here! Ive had 3 iphones and i won't be getting another one. Going Sony next time I think. "

Every Sony product I've had has died.
