Porn app took secret photos of users

FAB!!
A malicious Android app that held people to ransom has been found by US security firm Zscaler.
Adult Player appeared to offer pornography, but secretly took pictures of users with the phone's front-facing camera.
It then locked the user's device and displayed a demand for $500 (£330) which was difficult to bypass.
One security expert told the BBC that ransomware was a lucrative and growing area of cybercrime.*

Looking at porn on the internet is legal and done by over 80% of users. Extorting money with menaces is a criminal act. I don't give a shit if people know I look at porn but I would be bloody annoyed if they locked my phone!!
BTW the solution to the phone lock is boot in safe mode and delete the app. |

They attempt to add you once added they can access your device via KIK once accessed Any other app you use on that device, they can have access to, photos, Facebook etc but the big one they go for is mobile banking apps once you've logged in even using your secure information they have access to your bank account and empty it. So don't accept random adds from people (which is logical anyway) and don't use the app on any device that you have private info on or you could end up a victim of identity fraud. It happened via KIK to a very good friend of mine and it's why I don't use it anymore, she's was told they target it as it's an "anonymous" app so 1. No one expects it to happen and 2. It's harder to trace because of the anonyminity aspect |

Another popular use of the KIK app is for paedophiles taking photos of children off the devices |

It pops up on pornhub occasionally, even though popups are blocked, but I apply common sense and instantly remove myself from the popup and clear my data history and cookies |
