Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Is anyone else watching?

It seems to lack the earthiness of the novel or am I being too harsh?

There's something missing, passion I think, but, still, it gives something to watch whilst winding down on a Sunday.

The gamekeeper works for me though

Is it the bloke who played Rob Stark in Game of Thrones?

Did anyone watch the 90s version with Sean Bean and Joely Richardson? He was seriously hot in that, the way he said "yes my lady"! Just made me go weak at the knees lol. Felt it was true to the book which I've read a couple of times

Maybe that's it. I really enjoyed that adaptation.

I think the music in this version is making it feel too soft focused.

Mellors isn't doing it for me either.

It's the same story. He wrote three versions, nuanced in different ways.

Southwick (near Trowbridge)

They ruined it, utterly ruined it! Sanitised, moralised and de-eroticised!

I'm not wedded to the 90s adaptation (was a tad too young) but this one was a bit poor I thought. Might go and load up the book on my kindle instead, haven't read it for years.

I did expect better. It was just too romantic.

Maybe I have rose tinted glasses on for the 90s version?

I'm considering reading the book again to see if I just remember it as much more than just romance and maybe that was the strongest theme after all?

Glastonbury

Never a huge fan of the book, tbh.

Try Anais Nin, Delta of Venus or Little Birds
