Something is either bad enough that I no longer talk to a person or it's not that bad and it's all forgotten.

It's sad, but there really isn't a middle ground with me.

Most things you should forgive and forget about yeah else you'll feel like shit.

You don't have to, and i personally feel you shouldn't, forgive anyone who caused damage to your psyche or sense of identity. But do forget about them, they are shit.

Just where I need to be.

I think the forgiven is the easier part. Forgetting is hard, you never forget but you can move on.

If someone pisses me off I just eipe them out my life never to be thought of again.

Noone I care about has ever pissed me off enough for me to do that

I think it depends on what it is you need to forgive. Some things are unforgivable.

Forgive maybe...

Forget never!

No matter how much you need to or want to. After time memories fade, but time and again they will surface.

Its not how or what you forget it how you deal with what you remember...

If you can't forget then you can't forgive.

Not everything is forgivable or forgettable. Putting it to the back of your mind is advisable.

Generally yes. Life is short and hating and falling out with people is not the best way to live it.

dont feel the need to forgive people..they did stuff its their concern not mine and if they were being themselves..just shows who they are, why would i feel the need to forgive that..doesnt make sense..

most things i forget, mostly cos things are unimportant and life is too short, if it gets too much i just slip out of their lives and leave it behind. i prefer not to forget the lovely things that have happened to me, sometimes they don't end well, but i dont dwell on that bit.. my hurt is mine alone, not for others to worry about

How do we learn if we forget what happens along the way ?

We live and learn .

From our experiences we learn how to find a way to cope in adversity . And how to find the things in life we enjoy .

If we simply forget everything that affects us in an adverse way , what's to stop us making the same mistakes over and over again ?

So no , I don't forget any shit that comes my way , but it doesn't stop me from enjoying new experiences . I am just a bit more wary as past episodes which may highlight my personal vulnerability happened to help me realise that making the same mistakes again could be costly .

And as for forgiving , well that totally depends on what I am forgiving . Certain things , yes . Others not a chance .

You don't necessarily have to hate. You can not forgive someone and not hate them. You can not forget something and not let it eat at you.

I tend to forgive people... and sometimes I forget too... but if it was something really bad, that doesn't mean I stay friends or let it happen again. I forgive... and then I move on. Forgiveness is part of the letting go... part of making sure they have no power over you imo

I just forget these days, so don't think there's anything to forgive.

Overall, it depends on the person. I can forgive and forget but may not have much more to do with someone, if they've not moved on or learned etc.

Grudges etc aren't healthy.

It's always better to try to forgive, for your own sake. That doesn't have to mean you let someone back in your life, just that you move on from whatever has happened and don't let it taint the rest of your life.

I'm rubbish at forgetting though.
