Currently sat on a packed bus, in volcanic heat, squashed in a corner. However London to Leeds for a fiver you can not go wrong. Does anyone else use this service?

Ive used the Halifax to London service in the past £12 return, not the most comfortable of journeys but for that price can't really complain, also a bit of a bonus they pick up and drop off in my town so just a short walk.

You get for what you pay for really? I expect London to Edingburgh to be a long journey. However, the price a fraction of that on a train. Saying that has anyone used Bar Bar Car? Car sharing website?

Yeah I think I'd rather pay the fuel or the train fare. My car is a joy to drive so I do generally drive everywhere.

Never used a car sharing thing but I like to smoke and listen to loud music rather than be sociable with a stranger on a long journey.

And I don't have to share my journey jelly babies.

I use the train for work, but at £179 one way for a standard ticket (manchester to euston on Virgin), I would consider the bus if it was own cash. You can get two weeks abroad for a the price of a return rail ticket.

So glad my student railcard encourages me on the train. I've seen mega bus from my car too but it always seems packed and possibly uncomfortable. That said, some of the Birmingham trains have no refreshment service - London Midland, so trains aren't all fantastic.

I looked at getting the coach recently, it was £50 return. Flight with BA was £35 return with my Avios. Don't think I'll ever choose to go by coach.

Done London - Glasgow via coach once. NEVER AGAIN.

Hot, uncomfortable and no room to move about. Plus a d*unk guy got on at Golders Green, vomited in his seat and then layed down and fell asleep in it. We had to cope with that smell for 9 fucking hours!

And I can garantee you'll get some cunt who whistles, hums or taps his fingers for pretty much the entire journey.

I imagine it's great if you HAVE to make a journey and are strapped for cash but if I couldn't afford the train, I wouldn't do it.

Was ready the commit mass murder by the time we got to Glasgow.
