Tube strike Bext Tuesday - minor rant!

Jump to: Newest in thread

Now I don't normally comment on industrial action as there's usually two sides to every story and, as long as I'm alright Jack, I think let them get on with it and sort it out amongst themselves.

But next Tuesday is different. I'm off to England v Switzerland at Wembley and without the tube it's gonna be nigh on impossible to get to! So this time I'm directly impacted. So I'm no longer alright Jack

Therefore I just want to say "what a bunch of #%+$ing %%#@!? wa€$¥%s!!!"

If they'd kindly defer the strike until Wednesday when it impacts other people and not me, then all will be good again.

That is all. Thanks for listening!

Probably because half the RMT drivers have got tickets and realised their predicament

Yeah it's always a good debate - Brum would be central and fairer for Northern based fans to get to. But shouldn't the National Stadium be in a nations Capital city? I'm kind of day on the fence really. Obviously based in Berkshire Wembley is easier for me (the I'm alright Jack attitude again lol) but can see the strong argument for a Midlands based stadium.

The atmosphere at Wembley is poor to be honest, I preferred it when England toured the country as new Wembley was being built.

It should be about supporting the team and not about the money but...

the best atmosphere at 'New Wembley' was the Poland game a year or so ago, Poles everywhere all around us and it felt like it could kick off at any time - that was the only time I've felt like it being a 'proper' football stadium for an England game.

Also been there with my club side and that was a proper electric atmosphere so it's just really the England games that are muted

YEs good news as many can come to the game as well, cos they are moving the night tube thing to months ahead, so yes the strike will be another week which is good.

Newcastle and Gateshead

"Off topic I know but they should of built the national stadium in Birmingham, It's a lot easier to get to and around then London "

or better yet.... not have a national stadium

i like it when they had internationals all around the country when wembley was being built.... it gave different people the chance to see england play

p.s this is why in a weird sense it nor a bad idea to start backing an NFL franchise in London.... because the FA have said that if that happens.. the guarenteed 8 home games a year will more that offset not having some internationals there..... allowing england to play games at old trafford/eastlands or st james/stadium of light... or anfield... or elland road....

basically any stadium with a 50,000 capacity

Don't get me wrong I started going to England full time when England was travelling around the country but as the new Wembley has been open 8 years I actually dislike it as a stadium....

Very little atmosphere except for Poland, Ghana and France at home. The stewards are next to useles.

Away fans in the England area whhooo start jumping up and down when there team scores then wonder why they get a slap or two...(not from me)

England away is far better, more fun, we stand where we want with our mates....

But if I remember a few years back there was a tube strike when there was a game at Wembley.

Will go to google and confirm but we all managed to get there. For me what the problem is, is that the lead ticket holder was having to come from South London so he may not of made it, and he had the tickets
