The place I work wanted some speed bumps installed on the site, me and the other maintenance guy had done two a few weeks ago, they took about 2 hours each, we did the last one today, it took us 4 bloody hours, had to drill a shit load of 24mm holes threw tarmac then a concrete base under that, the drill bit got stuck at one point took half an hour to free it up, my neck is so tense right not, time for a soak in the bath.

don't think I would last to long in a job like that, it would only be a matter of time till I told someone to f**k off lol

It was a doddle mate. Last shift I worked one of the airlines called passengers to the departure gates, only to cancel lots of the flights. Having to explain to about in total 1000 passengers, that they won't be flying after waiting up to 6 hours for their flight home. It was easy......not!

I piloted my desk around for a bit. Had some lovely lunch then piloted my desk some more. And just finished after going back in after hours for some easy bonus money. I don't have a sore neck sorry.

Just got in after working 21 hours fitting 32 meters of signs inside a shop having to cut around all the shelves and things like fire alarms, cctv cameras and lights. Hate to think how many times I've been up and down ladders and kneeling on the floor, the best part is now I've got into bed I'm wide awake!

Yes mine was pretty hard going too but fun! I worked on site (I'm a decorator with a building company) then finished at 1:00, came home had a play (was caught by the tree surgeon cutting the tree outside who ended up watching) then off to Dover to help my best mate and her family move house from Wiltshire! Today I shall mostly be organising fun for the Bank Hol Weekend!

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Meetings, making spreadsheets, meetings, coffee, writing a report, lunch, do a bit of analysis, field a couple of phone calls, answer some emails.

Do I win?

I had a nightmare shift yesterday I turned up at the crack of dawn (0645) then because customers decided they'd turn up I had to stroll around for a bit then after having a stroll, work had the cheek to make me lock 2 gates!!! It was horrific I'm traumatized from how much I had to do

Mine was easy. I only had to offload up to 200 bags onto a flatbed lorry and get then load the same amount back onto an aircraft in half an hour, not to mention the cargo as well. Doing well that for 9 hours solid, with only a half hour break.

oh yes I used a drill, but not a little household drill, a big SDS drill which is a heavy duty drill very noisy and a lot of vibration, which does do you in after a while, then swinging and pulling on it when the drill bit gets stuck, and all the time bent over as it was the road that was getting drilled, then finally bolting all the speed bums parts down, might not sound to bad, but I bet after doing one, you would not be the first to volunteer to do another one pmsl

Personally I didn't. But spare a thought for our armed forces. In places like Afghanistan they could be carrying 40lbs of kit running around in 40 degree heat ......... and of course running the constant risk of being shot or blown to bits!
